My Experience:

I was expecting this power system to hamper my Splatlas (ac/20 + 4 SRM6) but I hardly noticed any difference. I generated a little more heat than usual but That just meant a little more torso twisting. I never experienced the inability to fire weapons unless I was slow to fire all my systems in unison, which I easily overcame. I tried other 'mechs but the situation became only better... Except for my dual AC/20 King Crab. In the King Crab I was only able to fire both ACs at the same time once before having to cool off, even in snowy maps. Before I was able to cool enough during the reload to squeeze another barrage off.

My Thoughts:

My experience in the Thunderbolt loaded with MPLs would seem to suggest a bright future for pulse laser vomit builds. I am worried about the longevity of ballistic builds being as viable if they create abnormal amounts of heat. Also, I saw, and expect, lots of Gauss Poptarts because of the instant fire.
