The "Critical Energy Indicator" and "Heat Intensity Indicator" crowd the central-lower HUD, and are not needed. Just use the existing Energy Guage and Heat Guage to supply the information.

Rather than the heat indicator moving from green, yellow, orange and red, just apply the colors to the colored bar within the guage. For example: as the heat bar starts off green as it rises above 0%, but as the heat passes 25% the bar changes from green to yellow. You could make it fancy with a spectrum change for each percentage, or just simple four-colors.

For critical energy, just have the now-empty gauge flash red or something, and keep the sound effect.

The HUD designer can now re-capture this space, perhaps by making the cool shoot indicators larger?

Personally, i would love those 2 bars to have their (toggle-able) near-crosshair counterparts - a small vartical bar to the left of the crosshairs for energy and one to the right for heat. like this:

- Icons here for people who can't see all colors properly. Or when map color\light can change it.

Hmmm. While I understand what you are saying you have a bar that moves up and down. Icon still not needed.
