Freezing And Lag Since Decal Patch In Cw

Ever since the decal patch, my CW frame rate has dropped from a playable 30 or 40 fps to 20 or less when enemies are around. I do not suffer any effect on normal quick Q game modes, and run about 50 fps. But I notice that the Kodiak ultra ac 10 clan zerg completely freezes my pc for about 3-5 seconds as they come into range,, and I also noticed a connection with all the decals and massive lag. I sure wish pgi could figure out how to install a button to turn off decals and special effects for lower end machines.
I don't want to get into a discussion about my system, I've been playing since the game first came out, and build computers for my kids and myself (4 gaming pc's). I was perfectly happy and climbing to tier 1 from 2 before the decal patch, now, I am lucky to pull 1 or 2 k drop in CW because of all the freezing and low fps. Please find a way to turn off all the eye candy, it is not why I play, and ruins the game for me and my kids. You must be losing money with such high game requirements that just get higher and higher with each patch, soon, I won't be able to play at all. Already my kids have lost interest.

Edit: just wanted to add, I can play fallout 4 ,the newest game we have just fine, and mwo, one of the oldest , is more demanding. Its not latency lag, its the engine and the massive amounts of useless terrain pixilation that must be causing it. Just panning to the orbital gun in CW sees a tiny drop in fps. I'm thinking the game needs to be made a bit more efficient like all other games out there. MWO is the only one giving me a hard time.

Yesterday a lot of people were complaining about disconnects in game. Perhaps the hotfix had broken something, which is damn ironic.

I actually witnessed that,, but was not a victim of it. No,, what I'm talking abut is the game going like still frame every time clan mechs charge into range in CW ONLY. Not in open servers, that's the funny thing. My system is below recomended specs, but has always done the job, specially since I got good internet. Its the patch. Since that huge patch, CW is unplayable now, and wasn't before, although, I'd never be a top tier player at 30 fps, it was fun. Now,,not fun at all.

I have noticed a massive 20 fps drop since decals came in.

zactly,, me too,, about 20 fps in CW,, took me to unplayable levels.

So you are saying that by decking out my mech with dekkels, I can mess up the FPS of players with potato computers? :P

sadly yes, its true. I wish pgi could fix that, doesn't seem good spirited to make a game that gives richer people an advantage ;P

update: I found some malware on my pc, it stopped the outright freezing, but the low fps and excessive decal and ac special effects in CW persist to unplayable levels, dipping into single digits in a fur ball , specially when black clan mechs rush us with ultra ac10 Kodiak. Quick play remains good and playable,, about 25-50 fps depending on decals and shiny special weapon effects. Is there any hope of an off switch for decals being implemented or is it just wishful thinking?
For developers sake I'll post my sub par mwo machine specs , even though you recently raised your minimum requirements from what it was a couple years ago.
Windows xp 32 home
G31M gigabyte mobo
4 gig ddr 2 ram (at 800 mhz) only reads 3
core 2 duo 283 processor (sometimes over clocked to 386) but doesn't help mwo noticeably.
Nvidia Gforce 740 GT

Like I said,, I was very happy until the last patch, now I'm handy capped severely. And I don't see any improvement in the game content, just eye candy I have no interest in. Any chance of an off switch for the candy devs?

well, I've learned from others that everyone who ran 30 fps in CW prior to the decal patch, now find the game unplayable(in CW), I'm not the only one. How the hell can coding be so bad that a tiny decal can knock out 15 or 20 fps? But PGI can do it. sorry to say, the only thing pushing me to spend more money on our 4 gaming pc's is now mwo, and it is not worth it. I don't spend a lot on mwo, so I guess they figure they don't need me. Having watched the game evolve from first going live until now, it doesn't look like anything new will be coming down the pike for a few years if ever anyhow. (besides new "looking" mechs that are not any different). I keep checking back each year or so, hopefully pgi installs a better graphics filter for family's like mine, and better game performance in general , because my favorite part of the game (CW) is now unplayable due to all the freezing and low frame rates. I will NOT be upgrading my pc again for you PGI, now all MWO has for me is a quick launch zerg with idiots at 40 fps, there is nothing else for me since your precious decal patch that really sucks the resources for some reason.

Me too. It's not bad, but I was a little disappointing after buying a 1070 to find that the fluidity, just recently improved to amazing quality, dropped remarkably after decals were introduced and people started putting more and more of them.

Since it's not a opfor-averse mechanic (like, say, disabling "trees and brush" which could be exploited to see players normally hidden), I'd also request a disable/do not load decals option.

When I was experimenting with graphic settings, running out of video memory had this effect. Try lowering texture quality or setting everything on low and see if that helps.

At first I was intrigued, as I've noticed a slight, millisecond 'hiccup' at the beginning of some matches and then normal 140-242fps for the duration... And then I read your PC specs.

Perhaps I can offer you this top-o-the-line, fine piece of machinery as an upgraded alternative?

Clanners need you to stand still so they can shoot you with their very complicated multi-pulse ACs.
