You people keep using the word content while attempting to ignore things in the game, I don't think you know what that word means.

Mechs, Maps, Weapons, Supply Caches, Modules, etc... They're ALL 'content' in the game. Saying you don't want more 'mechs', you want actual content, just makes you look like an idiot. (or those that say the same for anything else)

Things that aren't 'content'? Mechanics: Energy Draw, Heat, the actual numbers behind mech and weapon performance, etc.

I resisted the urge to write out an actually thoughtful response based on the fact that you are clearly a moron and it would have just gone to waste anyway. This level of stupidity does not warrant an actual response.

I join the response above, but with less intensity...
Everyone knows what content means, and everyone in these forums knows what everyone here means by 'content' so who cares what's the definition in the dictionary?
You know it but you just want to be a smartass...
I suggest a mod to close this thread before it gets ugly

I agree that it's a sloppily used word, but the point is to contextualize. In most cases it is very easy to hear what a person wants to say, and being nitpicky when there is no real semantic confusion is just being a silly douchebag.

Now I would say in most cases the requested "content" translates to "more things to do and experience in the game", and refers to things that are actual NEW experiences such as a new map or game mode, and not to variations of old experiences such as a new mech playing an old map/mode.

I think it's worth talking about the definition in a non-douchey way though, because some people regard a new weapon, mech or heat mechanic as a new "real content" experience and some do not.

I wouldn't really say what is and isn't "content", but rather specify what I am or am not interested in. For example I am interested in new maps, new game modes, more things to do in FW and PvE missions. I am not very interested in new weapons, mechanics changes or reward systems, since I feel what we have in those areas are good enough and what tends to happen when you mess with what is already ok is that it breaks and creates a mess. I would be interested in balancing if I felt that there was someone at PGI who could do changes I like, but I don't see them being able to so I prefer if they leave balance alone more or less.

This game is as deep as Tetris. So yeah a new shape is considered content.

Did you come up with this line? I am going to steal it and I want to know if people will call me out for stealing it from a popular source or if I can pass it off as my ownPosted Image

Meh! I think Tetris probably has more depth. At least there each piece literally fits somehow into the whole. Posted Image

Content. We want missions. Pve. better thought out game modes. So...want more mechs? Play same game modes? Complain about the same old balancing problem? Something other then mechs lasers lrms maps and the likes. The depth in current content is so shallow....
