i dont want the penalty every time this game crashes my computer, there is already enough waiting and load screens, im already being punished by having to sit thru windows loading up all over again, dont put another 2 minutes or watever on top of that frustration. can the penalty be made t only apply to players who have attacked or killed other team members or left the match via pressing the exit match/exit game buttons.

and while we are on the crashing topic, i see how i can send the crash log when the game crashes to desktop, but what about wen it locks up or crashes the PC and it needs a full restart?

If your entire PC is locking up/shutting off, I think it's something besides MW:O causing the problem. And the penalty is there for the sole purpose of telling you "Hey, maybe if I keep leaving a match for one reason or another, I shouldn't be playing."

My build is stable now, but it wasn't always so. I used to get MWO crashing my comp as well - and it was only MWO. Check out my sig, it had nothing to do with capacity.

It probably has nothing to do with MWO. My rig is not top of the line, but I can't remember the last time MWO crashing my computer.

You on steam or standalone client? My standalone client seems to be more stable than my steam version nowadays.

i am using a steam install and saying its my computer and not the game feels wrong to me when i have no crash or lock up issues outside of MWO, no other games do this, i was running Deus Ex just yesterday with no issues, i use 3D sculpting software that displays and manipulates millions of polygons without any problems and no it cant be MWO, it cant possibly be that this small company where every employee has to wear multiple hats doesnt get to test things properly, like the quick play button for example, sheesh.

so it is not there to punish people who have crashes? then that should be fixed so it doesnt punish people who have crashing issues.

Steam MWO has issues. I have to disable several other programs on start-up or MOW crashes my graphics drivers. It only happens on MWO so it's not the computer. Normally the culprit for me is the video capture software and MWO. I don't know why but they don't like to play nice together.

Maybe they could put a "forgiveness on app restart" mechanic in? As in: if you physically have to restart the application, you get forgiveness for your crash (up to a Forgiveness Threshold, say 3 crashes per hour or something).

If necessary, they could also cancel out any earnings from a match where you crash before engagement.

The issue here is the exact same issue that people have when Sherlock Holmesing people´s TS disconects with "Connection lost".. did his comp legit crash, or did he just pull the plug out of frustration?

And that´s why it´s impossible to relistically separate the 2, and therefore why it will probably never happen ;)

That said, my potato of a comp is UNDER THE MINIMUM SPECS and the game still runs with stable 30 FPS, and very rarely if ever crashes.

Therefore, I tend to think that it IS in fact something about your specific machine.

But guess what: There´s actually an MWO Support team who´s entire job is to look into these types of issues.... technical@mwomercs.com ;)

This guy's got the idea. If they start forgiving your accidental crashes, they also effectively condone plug-pulling.

ok i get that, i just feel that it is possible to do this without punishing everyone, i have designed two different UI systems for games before and know its possible. this is a lazy blanket way of solving one problem
