Your mech doesn't have any good quirks for boating LRM10s, LRM15s or LRM20s. And if you're boating LRM5's, you're basically running a big Archer without the 10% missile speed bonus.

The Cyclops is a glass cannon. To be honest, I'm somewhat disappointed in how it turned out and expected a lot more from it. I am almost to the point of view where I regret my pre-order.

Keep in mind that due to the personal achievements for this weekend including scoring a KMDD against a Cyclops, there's effectively a bounty on your head.

Ah, yes. I had forgotten about that. Still, even with that being a consideration, it doesn't change my perception of the mech to this point. Perhaps as time wears on and the novelty drops a tad, I'll reevaluate my position. It has just been so hit or miss and feels weaker than it should. The quirks they assigned are laughable by comparison to some of the others within its weight class.

Do not fear or sweat it, the next mech pack sold will have much better "quirks" then this one, and will completely make up for your choice to buy this one. I am sure it will have a special price too.... and will be out soon

Are you sure you're not just getting focus fired on account of the event? I know I've been trying to get Most Damage Done against those f***ers on two different accounts. Which involved shooting them whenever I saw them pop up.

Actually, I didn't buy this one. I'm taking a break from mech packs.

This PSA was for all my Cyclops teammates who think it's a good idea to play as LRM boats. Just got out of a match where our last guy was a 92% healthy Cyclops lobbing LRMs at the encroaching horde, while the rest of the team lay smoking and smoldering around the map. Had to vent a little.

i find its quite similiar to the Highlander minus JJ but faster, i have all the Highlanders and enjoy them particularly the Heavy Metal.
so far im liking the CP-11-A-DC but i do like mechs with twin AMS.

so far its fun and sorta comparable to the Highlander. I don't tend to play meta mechs or builds though.

I agree on your gripe of the LRM boating on this platform. Despite it having the hardpoints to carry enough of them to be considered a boat, it clearly doesn't have the right quirks for it of the long lasting strength to not get wrecked.

@MrBeef: So because I'm waffling on my like or dislike of the platform to this point, I'm a "filthy casual"?

Yeah, judging by the last leaderboard event (Weight of the world), most IS mechs need a structure buff to compete with the Clans.

At least Cyclops can TAG the enemy while having high mounted cockpit.

Thanks for the information that I was already aware of, and as soon as I play this game only for my win/loss or kill ratio I am sure that I will use your PSA.

As of now I play this game for fun and because of that, I will continue to use balanced all around builds. Which means I will run some LRMs in some of my Cyclopes.

Because it’s fun.
