Un-loreful Heresy Ahead

Just implement the Elite Dangerous system in
Already half way there
Make energy pool dependant on the engine, so 210 is 21, 300 is 30, 400 is 40
Wouldn't effect lights all that much as they cant boat that much to begin with
Mediums/Heavies/Assaults wouldn't really be effected at all.. the only real thing it would effect are those oddball mechs such as the Executioner
Or not do that idea and maybe just make it that Engine size just effects how fast it recharges

Have power diversion? basically ad MASC to EVERYTHING
Probably wouldn't work but it would be cool(heh) for example in your direwolf? want to move just that tiny bit faster to get into position then quickly set everything back to power priority
Also make it that that you can divert power to Utilities, such as ECM makes it slightly more bigger or the distortion is more powerful, AMS... well theres modules for that... and MASC maybe make the capacitor bigger before it damages your legs or you take less damage

Oh and an idea
Just remove Quirks... just all of them.. and just add different variations
So everyone can use Surplus which we are using now which has no advantages or disadvantages
EG this company makes Medium lasers which do more damage but are hotter and dont have as much range. or This company makes a medium laser which does less damage but more range but the same heat.. (oh thats just ER) but you get the idea.. specially with ballistics like this AC/20 has higher velocity and more range but does less damage or weighs more. or like This AC/20 does more damage but only has 90m range...


Or not... i'm not your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate

Do NOT tie energy draw to engine size. This is a mediocre™ idea and it needs to go away. It will only FURTHER the big engine meta and NERF mechs with a low engine cap with no conceivable benefit what-so-ever. It will also indirectly nerf standard engines.

That's right. Think about what would happen to the Urbie and Kit Fox.
Those mechs can mount a fair amount of firepower for their size but if that firepower was less effective sustainable they would have gained little from having less speed than the other light mechs.

Not every mech can change engine. Not every mech can use XL engine (IS for example). Mech with bigger STD engine got less weapon so.. why? Many mech have low engine cap. Many mech cant use big engines because all of weapon they have - toothpick. It can be great idea, if not already presented engine restriction.
Engine affects agility and speed. Not need to connect that to power, weapon and so on.

You want to force every IS mech to use only XL engine? Well, I don't think everyone would be happy use mech who die from shot to any side of torso.

Let's take for example Rifleman 3N
Add him Ando-Steel and DHS.
His max possible engine - 290. Put in him STD (like because we have them). With normal armor it can wield 2xML + 2xLPL + 4xDHS.
Yeah... and even so he have no ability to alpha all his weapon - engine cap 290.
See problem with breeding Engine and Energy Draw points?
And that mech have even 120 STD engine. 195 engine allows you to put in mech - 2xERLL + 2xERPPC + 2xML. That's pretty hot anyway but why not. So - it has pool of 19 with firepower of 48? Wow...


If that kind mechanic comes to live - most slow cold mech become junk
