Okay, easy general rules. Everything with a K? Kurita refit. Everything with a D, Davion. M for Marik, L for Liao.

Now, I'd love to say S for Stiener, but I know for a fact the FS9-S was a federated commonwealth overhaul in 3049. So... the others might not all be correct either. Like it could be M for missile instead of Marik, like the Locust 1M...

LCT-1V, classic, built everywhere.
LCT-3S, Built by Defiance Industries, So Lyran.

COM-1B, Designed by and for Lyrans. Saw mainly Lyran use. Since the 1A the commando has mainly been a lyran mech, so I'd toss the whole chassis under the Lyrans.

UM-R60, Classic, Everyone had some.
UM-R60L, a Cappellan overhual for that sweet sweet Ac 20.
UM-R63, another Cappellan upgrade kit. Seriously, these'r the only folks desperate enough for mechs to use the Urbie en mass. But then, after untold Treacheries by the perfidious Federated Suns, can you blame them?

FS9-H, Designed and built in Lyran territory, the Firestarter saw pretty widespread use.
FS9-S, Fed-Com

JR7-D,F,K Combine, Combine, Combine.

PNT-10K, Combine
PNT-10P, ... ummm, Are you sure that's a real mech? I don't think that's a real mech...
PNT-8Z, Star League Defense Force. Holy Crap, where'd you get that relic? ... Wait, you didn't find a lost-tech cache did you? And on a completely unrelated note, how many people know where you are right now? Just curious...

That is a common misconception (which probably stems from a misreading of the Sarna-entry), but the Wolfhound was pretty much a pure Steiner design, which merely adopted the ejection system from Dr. Banzai.

Of course, the Mech was used by (former) AFFS units too, but it was not a joint venture like the Hatchetman.

Legend Killer and Yen-lo-wang are both Solaris Arena fighters.
All other Centurions, Enforcers, and Jagermechs are Davion.
The Marauder and Warhammer D are Davion.
Rifleman 3C and 5D are Davion.
The Blackjack BJ-3 and 1DC are Davion.
The Victor 9B is more Davion than other houses.
Theres also a lot on the list that can be called 'general use'.

I can offer a few pointers here.

- Pirates Bane and Gray Death were both associated with the Gray Death legion mercenary command, being piloted by Lori Kalmar and Grayson Death, respectively.

- IS Battlemechs with a b on the end of their designation, such as the PXH-1b or the HGN-732b, are usually associated with the SLDF Royal units.

- Protector is a copy of Aleksandr Kerensky's Orion.

- You should also add this year's Loyalty variants. Here they are.
