Not sure why the OP is apologizing instead of the people responsible for the bad behavior.

As command you step in and take the responsibly of the units actions.

So a generic vague forum apology is all that is needed? If he was serious he would have then publically apologize for tarnishing the unit's reputation or be kicked from it.

I dropped with a lance of your guys the other night.

I would not mind the disruptive behavior so much if they at least collectively did more damage than a single air strike.

Nevertheless, I am inclined you write you guys off as a troll team.

You do not know what action inside the unit was taken so you can not assume no action was taken, Internal matter do not need to be made public, Apology was given you either take it or leave on table and make of what the 502nd is to your own decor. We know who we are and what we do is not the try hard meta thing. A lot of us do not run the meta, and we do not go to the same spots to fight over and over again. So we get called out and we have hot heads who fire back. Sometimes are idea work sometimes they blow up in are face. Sometime the units dropping with us follow and sometimes they don't. Then internet balls go wild on both side. I'm guilty but me playing a game to have fun my way does not make me a ****** or give you a right to call me a stupid ****** or my unit mate one. Its a game remember that and I feel a lot of people here in MWO land forget that. Come out of the basement and look around its not real. All kid when saying this but I guess some will see offence in that so I apologies to the basement moles.

Command has taken responsibly for their action what was done is done. I am not going to sink to a level of disrespect your looking for to try and goat me into here on the forum and make are CO look a fool. I said my peace I'll own my own mistakes and apologies for my actions if they are a fault, and you can assume what you will of my CO and of my Unit. But I take pride to have my 502nd tag on. With that good day sir good day.....

What would you have me do? I spent a lot of my years in Real life as a leader, your command's actions are yours and you take responsibility. I did what i felt was right and am dealing with it inside the unit. Whether you agree or not that is your choice. For those that think I am seeking attention I find that funny since troll posts such as some that have been posted are desperate cries for attention if you ask me. But I digress. I did the right thing and if more folks did this then we probably would have a much better community and player base but this is the type of society we live in...

Don't bother mate. I still think it is great someone in a leadership position stepped in and apologised for any thing done in an organisation that was unsavoury. Be it a real organisation or in a virtual community. It's ultimately a game, run whatever you want. Sometimes that whacky call works sometimes it doesn't. My unit leader does that sometimes too, make a weird call and if it works it's so freaking hilarious. If it goes to shiet, he'll take responsibility and most times they end up laughing anyways.

Of course a courtesy sorry in game for friendly fire etc is much appreciated, but some friendly fire is very expected. As long as they don't do outright unsavoury things like purposeful friendly fire most people I know are OK with it.
In all, appreciate your stepping up and let's have fun if we ever meet in the field
Cheers

......Really?.......this is the level of 'quality' this community has fallen to?

The OP actually steps up and apologizes to the community for ********** of those he plays with......and its met with **********?

No wonder this game is on a slow demise.......its not because of the gameplay, or mechanics......its because of its community. Im almost ashamed I was once a part of it and very glad I don't play anymore.

Feel free to firebomb this post. Its what you all 'do' now, apparently....

Up until your post, this has been a cheerful thread.

Not sure why you chose this one, to re-declare that you don't play the game anymore.

obligatory: Congrats, no one cares or misses you.

Bounty, Most of page 2 and 3 were good. There may have been some ribbing around but were all in good fun from what I can tell.
