Why Can't We See Other Changes To Weapons Like We've Been Seeing On This Pts?

While looking at all these various tweaks to weapons like increasing cooldowns and all that, which by the way are all absolute garbage and whoever came up with these changes should be fired, I was wondering why we can't see other similar tweaks to weapons like making machine guns not garbage.

What's the excuse for this crap? Obviously PGI has the capacity to change this stuff around and test it, which is the sort of thing players have been asking about for years, and the only time we see it is during this absolute shitshow public test session.

I'm not expecting an answer that amounts to anything other than PGI being incompetent hacks.

Ikr. No LRM spread reduction for bigger launchers, no fixed spread for LBX ACs so that they can be used outside of 250m range. no buffs for IS SL. No nothing, only nerfs to the builds that were never OP.

Oh, the list of changes I'd love to see that are mere XML Changes. All of these changes could have been done patch by patch to improve balance and improve faith that PGI is trying to solidly balance the game. Numbers should be adjusted each patch until all weapons feel like they're in the right spot. Then they could introduce other weapons and tech into the game (Mech Rifles, BLasers, Heavy Lasers, Rotary AC's, MRM's, ATM's, etc.) and then tweak balance again from there until everything feels good, again.

Most, if not all, of these things wouldn't be hard for PGI to do now; and they should have been working at them for the past several years:

- Fix Flamers so they don't need to be beholden to their current convoluted mechanics. ED brings a perfect opportunity to fix this (as long as Flamers are firing, ED doesn't regenerate, and use some simple numbers like 1.0 DPS, 2.0 HDPS, 2.0 HPS, 2.0 ED). However, it could've been done ages ago even without ED involved.

- Larger LBX Autocannons getting choked down so that they at least hit an Atlas torso silhouette at Optimum range. Then consider slightly bumping up the damage per pellet of all LBX autocannons so that they feel like solid systems (you know, the same way SSRM damage got bumped up to 2.5 because of the atrocious spread).

- Swap SSRM current targeting/shooting scheme with CLRM short range flight paths with a little more agility. You'd have a less RNG damage spread and leave things more in the hands of player skill.

- Remove MG Cone of Fire and bump the damage back up to 1.0 DPS where they at least felt somewhat more useful.

- Normalize all LRM spread to match the current LRM/10 to make the LRM/5 less desirable to fire in massive swarms (at least without Artemis/TAG/NARC) and make the larger launchers more desirable.

- Slowly bump up JJ effectiveness until they actually feel like Jump Jets again instead of Hoverjets. With Screen Shake and GH (soon to be ED) helping resolve pop-tart issues, they shouldn't have been left in such an abysmal state.

- Released and iterated on the Information Warfare from the Mech Rebalance PTS (At least the ECM fix! Those things were perfect! The "Magic Jesus Box" was gone!).

- Slowly bumped up PPC velocities until they actually felt reasonably useful without 50% quirks on a chassis.

- Made Pulse Lasers actually feel like lore Pulse Lasers and not normal lasers with a slightly lessened burn time (the community has had several great suggestions for this over the years).

The list just goes on and on and on. Just another example: We were supposed to get the Command Console overhaul in, what, February? If it was delayed indefinitely, for whatever reason, then they could have at least iterated on what we're stuck with until it was at least usable.

All of these XML changes take a mere hour or two of time each patch cycle, and can even be done towards the end -right before a patch release- after gathering nearly a month's worth of feedback from server data and the community. It wouldn't be hard, and PGI should have been doing it constantly.

One can only hope that they take the opportunity granted to them with the ED PTS to actually accomplish some of this weapons/equipment tuning.
