This is for the "No, not cool." overheating challenge. You have to overheat yourself and then hit override. Hitting override and then overheating yourself does not seem to work.

umm, it works just fine, hit override, cross 100% heat, survive the match, checkmark

I tried that twice, it didn't register.

Just get yourself to 99%, alpha everything, then hit override. Works 100%.

So you have to hit override just as you shutdown?

Yes, it seems that works.

I tried it both ways; it didn't work in either case. Ideas?

I really want to test this one out... but I'm having a problem with the "and survive" part of the criteria. My tier does not accurately reflect my skill.. :(

Checklist, if it runs by any other standard MWO uses...
won't update the page and list for some 15 minutes after the match you've played.
Unless it is supposed to give you the blue account injection reward thing right away going "Hey! You did it once."

Its not working for me either. Tried override then firing weapons to overheat and take some heat damage and survived. Also tried firing weapons then overriding and taking damage from not cooling off long enough not working for me.

I've got 2 checks on it alr. Seems like you can just shoot at the drop zone till you shut down and you override to start back up. It'll only be 1% dmg to ct but that's acceptable

yea.. override needs to be activated, and you hear the shutdown override wording as you over heat after.. It gives some sorta clue..

I know it is kinda cheap, but the best way to do it, i found.. If you have a weapon with very low heat, or good timing that you can push your heat to 101.. to get it to trigger, you can do it at the start of the match.. Or just wait till the match is in hand and do it.. Lasers on chain work great for it.

I just keep forgetting... But to me, the only two things really worth while in this event are the 3 days premium, and destroy 4 components to get the paint.. though maybe i'll try to get the hanging spider too.. might be nice for Halloween :P

There is two ways toa ctivate Override:

One is a dumb switch that last for about 10 seconds
The other is a toggle that turns it off and back on when you press it again.

I've done it without any problem using the second method.
