I was just trying some funny stuff in MW4 and noticed that I never tried the thunderbolt (except in MC2) and I was actually surprised by how useful it is. It flies really fast, does insane damage and you have 15 rockets in each pod. So when I outfitted my Catapult with two of these I was actually doing some serious damage compared to my usual LRM20s.

Eventually, unless they decide not to. ANd i'll be the first to get a Catapult or Stalker JUST to mount an Arrow IV arty in the torso.

I still remember in MW4 Mercs in Solaris there was this son of a ***** in a Vulture with twin Thunderbolts... *******.
Still loved the weapon myself.

Thunderbolt artillery as a commander skill, yes.
Mech mounted artillery, no.

Thunderbolt comes in 5, 10, 15, and 20.
Exactly! In 23 Years from now if MWO keeps going on a day (realtime) to day (gametime).
Before that there was a single shot missile with the same name. But that is still four years from now in gametime.

I think OP meant Arrow IV, http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Arrow_IV, and it's incorrectly named as Arrow IV Thunderbolt in MW4..

I'd rather they implement all tournament legal equipment first before any including any advanced stuff.

Quite possible, but confusing, since the TT had the Thunderbolt missile system (first appeared in Unbound) and the Arrow IV artillery system. The former had the same range and damage as an AC/10, but acted in all other ways like an LRM (no bonuses from extra missile guidance systems), but can be shot down with AMS.

You know what makes a mess of Thunderbolts? AMS systems. It's pretty much guaranteed that you'll shoot down a single missile coming at you. Thunderbolts will make everyone who can take an AMS do so.
