I think it'd be fun to try an upgraded ECM that weighs a little bit more and is more expensive. On the battlefield it would work exactly like the normal ECM, but with one added benefit: even when you are target locked by the enemy, the ECM blocks their sensors so your paper doll with damage and loadout data is kept hidden. It might be fun to try and see if it's worth the tonnage to keep enemies from knowing where to target you or what to expect from you.

i dont think a better ECM is a good idea ECM already works as 3 Different Equipment right now,
1) Guardian ECM= Slows Lock Times(takes Double the Time to Lock a target(4-6seconds)
2) Angle ECM= Slows Lock Times for Allies(Extends Double the Time to Lock a target to Allies(4-6seconds)
3) Null Signature= Stops your Dorito from Appearing(Friend&Foe, Never see LRMs but watch out for FriendlyFire)
