Okay, everybody gets one.

How would *you* introduce a new, cool weapon that makes the game more fun/awesome? Not too detailed, just a concept. Refer to another game, perhaps... just enough info to see what we all feel is lacking in terms of Firepower.

Please feel free to like posts that reflect what you think is lacking from the current build of MW:O so we can get some kind of tally going (I know how the super-accurate information from forum-poll-liking really serves the statistical community :-)

Prosperity Park:
Some kind of high rate-of-fire, single point of impact energy weapon that shoots decently-paced glowing blobs of energy.. like the plasma pistols and plasma rifles from Halo: Combat Evolved.

Deploy/Introduce them as Light PPCs, perhaps?

Why would you want to add weapons that aren't in the lore when we already have a ton of weaponry we could use that is in lore? Give us SRM and LRM ammo types! I want to be able to lay mines with my LRM launchers!

You know what Juodas? I may be all for new weapons but i gotta agree with you on this one.
If a new weapon of that type is needed we got the Plasma cannon for example although it's from 3069.

For PVP I find fewer choices works better for MM and overall balance. Most games just have same but different short, medium and long range weapons with the same values and different graphics with less than a 5% difference in those areas that is balanced by health levels and speed (but all within a 5% range)

I kinda call that fluff, but it is easier.

The Thermal Limpet

This could be more like a traditional mine that a player drops and leaves behind as a trap or a projectile similar to NARC that one fires at a target.

The more traditional mine would active and, using magnetics, would jump up and attach to the unsuspecting target that enters its field. Obviously the projectile version would have to hit it's target. This could be a "toggled" feature with the player choosing which mode to activate.

Once attached, it would not detonate but begin to overheat, perhaps by introducing water into a white phosphorus core, and begin to substantially overheat the victim raising their base heat levels and substantially increasing their risk of overheating for the next 30-60 seconds. It would also cause a small amount of physical damage to the component it is attached to and may even set off ammunition in the component.

I'd rather have autocannon ammo switching over a new weapon PGI pulled out of its posterior.

Mech mounted Long Tom Cannon. Acts like a mortar, and lobs shells that deals 20 damage with splash, and has a range of 1000/2000 meters. Modify the directional arrow we have now to project its trajectory.

And PGI really bloody needs to learn how to code so that splash damage is actually blocked by terrain and obstacles.

I want heavy machine guns. Something between the MGs we have now and AC/2's. Make em 300m range and 1DPS and 1.5-2 tons a piece. It would be used in so many ballistic/energy boats I think.
