So i won a QP with a 3pv from the start. However it said that i didn't get a point.

When i was against a wall, i was briefly put at a 1st persion view, does that nullify the condition?

I don't normally (ever) play 3rd person, and trying to complete even one match with a kill and not dying is incredibly painful. What is the reasoning behind no map available in 3rd person? That might at least make it bearable.

Your translation skills are sub-par. Having never played 3rd person, I am asking what the reasoning behind removing the map option from 3rd person is/was. Prior to trying 3rd person I was unaware that the map was no longer available until informed of it by teammates in chat. I am not enjoying 3rd person and, if I manage to somehow complete the challenge, I will never play it again, map or no map. I was just asking for information. Thank you for your helpful snark, though. It really brightened my already ****** day.

This challenge is "COMPLETELY BROKEN". I have had countless matches where i started with the Start in "3p view" already checked and "never" switched back, gotten 1 to 3 kills in a match, survived and won the match and still have not got a single point.

Yeah I've had at least 10 matches that should have qualified but yet no points yet. Should have a couple of overheat ones to but nope.

Ok, I finally got one. Not sure what did it but I got one kill, survived, won by cap on assault, had just switched back to start in 3pv after playing a couple of matches in 1pv, was playing solo after playing in a group, tried to stay away from other mechs and barely twisted to make sure I wouldn't get thrown into 1pv.

Still didn't get any points for the overheat one though.

I'm willing to bet that its the dropships throwing it off.

When you start a map with the dropships, you're starting the game in 1st person right there, and I bet it voids it.

3PV was added as a tool to assist new players with understanding movement controls and leg orientation, so the map is moved out of the way. You're not actually supposed to play that way, which is why your arms are locked, your aim is unreliable, and you have a flashing drone over your head. The event was done to test new internal stat tracking tools, which has obviously revealed a few problems.

The minimap was never "removed." It's never been there.

No one but the greenest greenhorns play in 3PV. A few players will pop into and out of it in very specific circumstances in order to "sneak" a better view of the battlefield.

The only other time I've been required to use it was one round of the Beer Warriors Tournament: 4-man team, mediums only, no armor, gauss only, and played entirely in 3PV. Hilarity ensued.

Why were you complaining about how hard the mode is to use when a challenge is going on? Sounds like you didn't like the fact that it was more of a challenge than you were expecting.

I was thinking that too but I had multiple matches on non-dropship maps that should have worked but didn't. However when I finally did get it, it was on Mining. I'm thinking that even if you don't see the camera switch all the way it counts. Because I very often had my camera get very close to my mech because of a wall or other mech and kept not getting the point. However once I completed a match without the camera getting so close I did get the point. But it might have also been because of logging in and out a couple of times and turning the 3pv option on and off in options.

I've had quite a few matches that would have qualified if not for the "forced 1st person" effect from a wall or someone bumping into me from behind. I still keep trying, and just got a kill a game or two ago with no 1st person bump, but I'm still not getting the point for it. I love a good challenge, even if it is weird and awful (playing in 3rd person), but when the points don't count when you actually play fair, it's not really a challenge, it's just cheap.

**UPDATE - Does getting MORE THAN ONE KILL nullify this? I just did an epic battle.... last man standing, 4 kills, no 1st person (on purpose or glitch), and I'm sure I fulfilled all of the criteria of the award. Still, nothing! The only thing I can think of is that the wording says "get 1 kill" and I got 4. Is this particular challenge meant to be this lame?

***UPDATE 2 - So I FINALLY got the award! After several "shoulda got it that time" rounds, and after having them reduce the requirement to only needing one success, I finally had a round that seems to have satisfied the Flea gods! Now to disable the "start in 3rd person" mode, and forget there even is such a thing.
