Right now, a leader of a group must leave it in order to pass leadership on. And when doing so, they can't pick who it gets passed to. That is ridiculous. I can see no good reason for not being able to pass leadership on to whoever you want, and do so without needing to leave the group.

++1 - totally agree. Why is it needed? If the group leader leaves and it rotates to a player who has only been playing the game a few weeks, that serves to damper as he is instructed how to do certain things, or he leaves the group to see if the next person it falls to understand how group setup/invite/etc .

If Verant/SOE for Everquest can do it, surely PGI can do it.!!

Yes, pleaseplease do this, and better sooner than later .

The inability to assign a Group Leader, if the current one has to go afk/leave, has led to much inconvenience in Groups I was playing with in the past .

+1, totally agree. Shouldn't be a huge hassle and would improve group play significantly. Please add "Promote to group leader" option. Already have Take Command and Relinquish Command options in-game...just add that functionality to the Group interface.

Also Voice Chat for groups out of game would help.

I'm going to SUPPORT this thread, as well. Why this feature isn't already present happens to bewilder me. There's no reason to limit passing of powers to whoever has been there for the second-most-longest amount of time.
