If they just made Long Tom be an artillery bombardment instead of a nuclear blast it would be fine and it wouldn't have needed to be repeatedly nerfed into oblivion.

Take a standard artillery strike, scale it up so that it fires like 80 shells in a big radius with multiple shells landing at a time, bam it's done; oh and I guess decrease the frequency of strikes too.

This - area denial - thumper bombardment - the enemy might move through the area but it will get damaged
but the biggest issue is the randomness - it should have to be triggered

doing scout missions is now utterly pointless

if theyre going to nerf the long tom they need to buff the meta bonuses for scouting missions

because a weak!@# longtom isnt worth it

I admit that I barely play CW anymore (since phase 3), but the only time I have seen (or heard of) folks scouting to the point where long tom was active was during the last CW event. Has anyone seen it since?

I ask because, if it is not being regularly activated during normal play because it is deemed by most players to be a blight on the game or merely because it has driven most players from the mode such that most groups lack sufficient numbers to spam scouting to activate it even if they wanted to, then how is it anymore pointless now?

In other words, if it wasn't activated with insta-kill capability, how is it less pointless now presuming that it still doesn't get activated?
