Just read the dev response here on the forums. A simple question gets this kind of response; taking time out his day to type all that. Having strong community relations and rolling with the punches with negative criticism will create a game people want to stick around and enjoy.
Little to no community relations, Russ, Paul, Brian, etc hiding behind they're community manager, complete lack of direction with the game is going, and no risk to add some spice to the game (npc's, new tech) are the reasons once avid players like me have now moved on.

I bet you would rather know nothing than knowing how bad things really are at PGI.

Also is there a pink Flea figure on Tina's desk?
...I think we all know Paul has a 6 MG Spider vinyl on the side of his tower.
We only ask the important questions here on the forums!

Rumors have it, they have my self-respect chained up in the basement. I wouldn't know though, it keeps sending me these letters made out of newspaper clippings describing how wonderful it is to live in Canada, but it just needs to ask if I could spare $20-$80 dollars every month. I hope it's okay...

Also, some MWO players were rude and said bad things. That's the kind of stuff that devs over at Blizzard never have to deal with. All WoW, Hearthstone and Overwatch players are notoriously mature and polite.
As for "hiding behind their community manager": if only. Our community manager posts about once a week. You can't hide behind a presence that is basically invisible.

Not true at all. I dunno about Overwatch forums, but Hearthstone forums is a REAL salt mine. Compared to MWO forums and MWO players, Hearthstone ones are like the Dead Sea. Salt, salt, insults, accusations, and everything in between.

I know, I know, I was being clever and satirical. Except for the last bit of my post.

Blizzard have never been responsive to community - they have always been answering only those questions, they has something to say about by themselves. I.e. what they have always been calling Q&As - have always been just press conferences. If they're being asked a question, they don't want to answer or know, that answer would have too weak reasoning and would be beaten easily, which would involve them in discussion, where they would be beaten at the end and would have to make changes into their game as the result - they prefer to simply ignore this question. Example: forced PVP on PVE servers. They prefer to simply ignore this problem. No comments, no answers, no reasons, no excuses, no justifications. Simply because they know, that no matter what they would say - "PVE server - is the place without forced PVP by definition" argument is ultimate and no reasons, excuses and justifications can beat it. Just one statement about this problem - and they will be forced to remove forced PVP from PVE servers due to massive outrage. Same with no flying problem. They tried to use "immersion" argument. It was beaten pretty easily - simply cuz not all players need immersion. Since then they simply ignore this problem. Because if they'll try to give more reasons and all reasons will be beaten - they'll have to revert this change. And they want to simply force it on players.
TL;DR Blizzard are the same, as PGI. They say something, only when they want to say something by themselves. They ignore all inconvenient questions too. They are simply more talkative due to having more CMs, who are paid for talking with players.
