Red PUGgles, that is

It's easier to see them as random Potatos that need to be Wubbed, rarely a threat...but that hides the truth that they are an individual player, who sometimes is not a Potato (Remember, easy rule of thumb: Half of each team will have a Terribad performance)

Where they demonstrate the basics of mech combat...and it's astounding.

Speaking of potatos...those grains.

Notice how he TWISTs and avoids the death's knell which is my Warhorn and WubMakers, and hides his face

Too often, at the peak of Mount Tryhard PUG LIFE...they don't.

Also note his max head armour, which prevented my from instantly taking his face, and RNGeesus not giving my my Crits. Praise be RNGeesus, and his mysterious ways.

It's too easy to remember the Potatos, and harder to remember the competent plays, both Bluefor and Redfor

I still got his face, though. #262, you had max head armor

That Nova is smart

Be like that Nova

Pugs are like hobbits. You can learn everything there is to learn about them in a few dozen matches, and still be surprised after three years in the solo queue.

Also, they typically wander straight into Mordor without any kind of plan except charging Mount doom.

If you don't spread damage then you never learned to play Mechwarrior.

one thing i like to do is pretend to be an easy kill, lure a big mech into following me and open his backside to a team mate (usually an assault or heavy). sometimes it works and they get the kill, other times they fail to capitalize i loose some parts, or die. you gift wrap a kill for some people and they are too dumb to open it. but when they do its an awesome experience.

other times when you find yourself in an advantageous position, like 6 vs 4, start fighting and then realize that the other 5 team mates all collectively decided that they should flee in terror. do people even want to win? of course when they stand and fight everyone ends up getting a good score and more points than poking at range doing little damage and then get rolled 5 minutes later.

Believe it or not McGral, not everyone who isn't a T1 World Champ ultracomp superman is a drooling slug incapable of finding their own face in the mornin'.

As for max head armor...perhaps in your tier. Heh, down here I've been headcapped one game in a thousand and shaving points from the ol' nigh-unshootable brainium lets me keep more armor on the mitts, the move-ies, and the midriff - all of which take many orders of magnitude more fire than the motivator. I can remember far more games where an arm or a leg or a shoulder or my Tootsie Roll Center held on by an absolute thread than games where my head was even so much as armor-breached, let alone in critical shape. If I thinned armor places other than the head - and there's always at least a few points you need to shave somewhere to round off a ton - those would've been games minus an arm, or a leg, or a shoulder. Or a me.

Also note that not shutting down in front of a Wubber is also a good way to avoid getting lobotomized. Nice recovery on the Nova's part, no doubt, but he wouldn't have needed to recover so desperately if he hadn't decided on a mid-match nap in the first place.

Has the pugs deteriorated so much in quality that mere torso twisting and full head armor surprises OP? Posted Image

Maybe it's only PGI crew who began to play their own game, give them some times for they learn torso-twisting and learn to push right during skirmish matchs...

Unit player. It is easier to see them as a bunch of arrogants who think they are somwhat skilled because they are sucessfull in a slowmo FPS designed for battletech nerds > 50 years old. Recon says most of them might even archived their tier by seal clubbing in FW.

However, sometimes unit players surprise you by starting such threads giving credits to from their perspective steering wheel hive. How generous.

And then freeze at the slightest exchange of firepower, thus blocking off his entire team coming from behind.

Some puggles have followed this game and its progress for a long time, been a puggle alone does not make you bad.

Iv never done the unit thing and CW just blows chunks as far as i care to know, had some good matches with the old stock spec crew on ts3 there a few times but iv always been a puggle.

Ill bet im not the longest standing puggle with the most hours but a puggle i am and im still here following the game and its progress.

Actually if you queue in QP you are a PUG yourself Posted Image

And I can't count how often I saw someone who I know should be a good player derped around like a sober irishman.
Being a potato in this game is neither bad nor can you prevent it.

Oh and the Nova, still overheated so don't be like the nova Posted Image

Never underestimate someone even if they are relatively inexperienced. I remember once when I was just starting out in karate we did a sparring session and it was an odd number so I was without a partner so the sensai paired up with me (oh crap). We started and he went straight in and I managed on instinct/reflex to get in a front snap kick dead center. We both stopped for a moment, I think both of us in a minor state of shock .... And then he trounced me. But .... still got that shot in. Ya just never know what a potato is gonna do.
