That's right, I'm at it again, doing something insane. This time it's in order to raise money to get a car for the family. We've been without one for around 9 months and I decided to try to do something... torturing myself for your amusement. Come in, chill out and have fun with the mwo community at twitch.tv/ximpalerx

Is this a joke? You need a car for your family, so your planning to stay up for 48 hours playing video games?

I love it when people make comments on things they have very little knowledge of, I can even appreciate those who do so trying to be helpful, I really can. As for the trolls who think this is a joke, I'd like to remind people who I am. I'm the guy who has raised over $30k for autism research by staying up and playing video games. This is what I do to bring in a bit of extra money into my household. It's not much different than actors you see in movies except they make even more money by providing entertainment. I've worked and held down jobs before I was a teenager. I also asked my viewers (a viewer base second only to Sean Lang for mwo) what they thought about the idea and it was an resounding "go for it!" Thank you all for your suggestions and advice. Unfortunately the 48 hour show was postponed until the local internet clears up... perhaps this weekend.. maybe earlier.

Let me remind you of something, Imp. someone who has watched your streams and has come here regularly until I stopped caring about this place and having fun.
The logic you just showed originally was:
"I need money, so come check my stream out while I play video games."
Imp, some people don't know who you are unless you explain it in the first post. You gotta do so or you risk stupidity like Imperius and that other pug.
Good luck and hopefully you get going again.

Yeah you have a point. I typically go into greater detail but thought a more simple approach would be better focusing more on the 48 hour part to carry the message. People just see it as someone playing a video game, not as a source of entertainment. I think I am going to dub it Falloning. Don't fallon me. If it were that easy everyone would be doing it.

How entertaining are you after 47 hours straight?
Sure, entertainment is something else for everyone but this really sounds like you want to make some cheap money. Maybe it is just me, but if you want to earn money with entertainment it should be little bit more effort and some kind of professionalism in it than 3 lines on a forum about some guy streaming a game for some time.

I agree with you 627. The people that know me are the ones I'm trying to inform. It was a short sighted post. As far as how entertaining I will be after 47 hours, we'll have to see. I know I'm pretty entertaining after 23 hours just due to exhaustion. Let's hope I can keep it going for another day.
No one has to spend anything, just attending is fine with me. I have no idea how well this will be but I'm going to give my all to the show and work through the full 48 hours (unless my internet goes down again) no matter how the donations are. I always tell everyone to never put themselves out. If someone has some mad money (typically spent at the movies or whatever fun thing) and feel I deserve a tip for my efforts (think something along the lines of street performer) then feel free but no one is ever obligated to do anything to just show up and enjoy the show and the company of the other viewers.
Again, my intent was to keep the post short and sweet, geared to people that know of me already. It was more short sighted than short and sweet and I apologize.

48 hours? Gawd.
I used to able to handle that when I was 18-20y old, but now that I'm 26(yes I know it's not that old of an age) I clock out around 8 hours.
And I don't do energy drinks to help me past 8 hours, can't stand the way those thing make me feel.
