

Fix Faction Matches: All Players Either Clan Or Is

How many factions are there? 10? That divides that many players into waiting.
Make it so youre either a clanner or an inner sphere player. That splits the players into two, plus the mercs who work for either.
I think the faction matches are awesome, but i refuse to wait sooo long to get a match in or sit and 'capture' a planet cause the opposing team never shows.

Ive been CJF for awhile now and I still have 5 matches to do to be an 'official' member. I loathe sitting and waiting for matches to start.
All the time. Not just during the event but prior to it.
Get rid of the individual factions, make it Clan faction or IS faction. Not Steiner or Jade Falcon.

Have you listened to the last pod cast Russ did? They're basically doing this and it's a stupid idea for anyone who is a loyalist. I don't want to be a 'IS faction".

Combined queue does nothing to fix the issue of low population and population imbalance.

Does that actually make sense to you, honestly? 3 planets of 12v12...when you drop the first planet because your team only has 8 so you go to planet 2 that only has 3 so you drop to check out planet 3 that has no one so you go back to planet 1 to find theres only 4 there now cause everyone dropped. Thats 5 minutes killed right there.
Great that you dont want to be "IS Clan" but...you rather chill out and watch some youtube while you sit in queue for 20-30 minutes?
Funny how quickplay is basically the same and it takes 2 minutes to start a match...

QP with Drop decks, it is the beginning of the end, it means everything we wanted this game to be will never come to fruition.

I'll forgive the fact that your pretty much fresh out of the iron womb, you were not here for Phase 1 or 2...probably missed most of phase 3 as well. In the first two phases fights were plentiful and competition was fierce then gradual changes were introduced some good some...not so much. With phase 3, they introduced the killer known as Tom who is Long and he killed a good chunk of the player base, even the teams who had him active regretted the choice as it killed their income. Add in some other miscues such as no new maps or even adding slightly re-worked QP maps for FW drove off even more. FW is hanging by a thread, the current Event has brought a lot of people back, I haven't seen +99 queues since Tukk 2. Probably won't last after the event. But this phase 4 plan will pretty much gut the Loyalist community (granted I can't speak for all of them) if that's what you want, then welcome to Uncle Russ' eSports extravaganza formally known as Mechwarrior Online.

There's about 36 more total Clan players on (not counting events) than IS right now, at best. Often more. Being split among 3 planets means you've got 3 teams each waiting 10 minutes or so for their "turn".
Make sense?
If they're all in the same queue you only ghost 1 at a time and the problem compounds as such -
3 teams now waiting. The first team waits 10 minute uses and.... ghost. Back of the line. Second team doesn't even start their ghost timer until then. Team 1 has to wait for 3 matches to play before they even start waiting for ghost drop timer to start.
Again, we did this. 2 or 3 times. Tukayyid. It's a mess.
Good luck though, PGI is doing it anyway. Because sometimes when you make the exact same mistake repeatedly you get totally different results.

The issue was never buckets. Ever.
It was population parity IS v Clan. Fluid alliances would help with that - to a degree, there's a lot of Clan players who have no interest in playing against Clans or organized teams for that matter.
However other than making it more fun to play FW and getting more total players *on both sides* the number of buckets isn't relevant aside from working to dilute the problems of popation imbalance. Combining queues IS v Clans just exacerbates the inherent issues with population imbalance.
Ah well. We'll see how it plays out and if it doesn't work....
Well, it's what will be for the foreseeable future anyway.

Just IS versus Clan.
Your choice of House or Clan will be irrelevant.
I guess those distant planets to the north of even Clan space will never be used...
The issue was people screamed that the teams were destroying them. And PGI couldn't do anything to stop big teams from winning so much.
