Theoretically, yes, for arm mounted weapons. Or all, depending on how you map the controller input.
I'm not sure it's going to work as well as I would like though.

Bloody hell.
I'm going to have to dig mine out from somewhere under my desk.
However... I'd prefer to have a free-look style way of looking around my cockpit/out the windows at different angles rather than aiming with TrackIR. It seems a bit imprecise for that.
Or hell, even set it up for movement controls. Looking left moves me left while my mouse aims right, taking the torso with it. That'd be cool, at least in theory... lol

Wait...have they confirmed TrackIR support? I'd love having independent torso and arm aiming via joystick and a headtracker, but I don't remember seeing confirmation of headtracking support anywhere...

Even if they didnt directly, trackir has mouse emulation so you can get around it. I use it in mech4 sometimes under mouse emulation to test.

Ah yes...I'd totally forgotten about that!

Yes, TrackIR support is confirmed.
Beta users leaked that it can be mapped to the "free look" function, and that arm mounted weapons track free look.
I'll believe it when I see it. *shrug*

Although I've seen some things like this in the past, I sort of forgot about them. Given the choice of getting a better joystick or being able to look around my customized cockpit, I'll be getting one of these things.
Freaking awesome!

They take some getting used to. I will tell you to turn the sensativity down till you get used to it. I use mine in flight sims and for about a week i would get vertigo, however now i cant fly without it, it like you become part of the experience. One of the best peripherals i have ever invested in.

For those on a budget, have spare time, or like to tinker with stuff, you could take a look at "free track" (google it), a freeware alternative to the IR tracker software that can be set up to run with most types of webcams + an IR hat. If you want to spend a bit, you can use the freetrack software, pick up trackIR's trackclip pro for around 35 bucks and use a ps3 eye webcam (about 25 bucks) for a very nice headphone mounted tracker setup. I'm currently using it as a supplementary mouse input for mechwarrior living legends, the trick is to set up a "deadband" in the center (to allow small head movements that don't move the mouse) and enable autopan. Not really needed in mwLL, but I don't have a beta invite yet, so I'm experimenting in the Next Best Thing... works amazingly well.
Oh, should note that you'll see some concern about "new" and "old" versions of the ps3 eye; if you can get the old one, great, but if not the "new" version works just fine with a couple layers of exposed film as a visible light filter. There's tons of other webcams that will work tho, check out their website for a list and details.
