I should be Davion, as they control New Hessen at this point in the timeline. I decided to go for House Steiner as Davion and Steiner have pretty much an integrated military, supporting each other at that point and Steiner seems like the more fitting place for a Hessian looking for good pay.

Once the meta-game/community warfare is starting and if the Capellan Confederation is able to retake New Hessen, i'll of course will rejoin the glorious communist peoples republic and House Liao.

Im of the opinion this is a non issue until we know more about faction warfare's mechanics.

We need to know more to make even a reasonably informed choice.

What are the actual benefits of being in one faction over another?
What are the actual benefits of being in a merc corp over faction house?
Will merc's be able to fight over the same worlds as factions, and how is it determined where they fight?
How will it be determined which company fights which company in the faction warfare events?

Until those questions have fairly solid answers the only real reason to pick a house or merc corp is b/c your friends did it, wanting to be in the underdog or topdog populated house, or just for fluff reasons. All those reasons are valid, but the unanswered stuff will likely lead to many people changing their minds.
