So i discovered this cutie, the Urbanmech.

A really really really adorable pint-sized light-mech with a whopping 35 KPH top-speed, that will outrun a locust in any day, 360-degrees torso-twist, and an AC/20 that will one-shot an Atlas right in the ***.

Seriously though, this mech is actually pretty damn cute. Any good builds out there? Obviously the STD60 is stupid, but is there good (not bad) builds with them as well?

So far, these are my builds:
Urbanmech improved Stock
Urbanmech Turret
Slow Turret STD60
Urbanmech Creeper

Are you serious? Just run them stock. Boom. Best militia mech since 2675.

Most effective Urbie builds are the ones that use energy weapons as main weapons.

And a bonus R63 which actually uses AC2.

if you don't have at least an AC10? You ain't piloting an Urbie.

You wanna laservomit? Get a Cheeto or PewPewStarter. Urbanmech ain't got time for that nonsense.

Remove the jump jets and put two ppc's on an urbie.
My record is 920 damage or so in it.

Game isn't designed for real Urbies so Play it like anything else. I run two ERLL on one and PPCs on another to snipe with. Other than that the other two are just to look at and have the ac10 on them. They are way to slow and insanely useless.

Heh, heh, OP said "good" and "Urbanmech" in the same sentence. Posted Image

My preference is to run them in various combinations of a LPL + MG's or a couple of ERLL's + MG's.
Feel free to accuse me of being a heretic.

play those urbies like a medium brawl support (works best for me) if you don`t use ppc's

good variants are on the 60 2 LL`s and 4 MG's

smurfy: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...ab28a0045370b01

on the 63 1 LPL 2 meds and 3 MG's

and on 60L 4 MPL's and 2 MG`s

the dual ppc works best for me on the 63 because you can strip the arms for additional weight since it has torso mounted weapons

Here's my favorite 'meta' urbanmech.

UM-R60L

Some think its sacrilege to not carry a large ballistic gun on a slow Urbanmech. But really? It had its place in lore but in a game like this it REALLY needs that speed. So biggest XL engine the thing can carry. Its torso being perfectly round along with the 360 torso twist makes this little guy excellent at rolling damage.

Funny fact: PGI once considered the idea of adding the Urbanmech to the game so ridiculous that they once announced its release as an April Fool's joke, but the joke was so well received and demand became so high that a while later they announced it for real.

Urbies are awesome. People do everything to go out of their way to kill you though, even if it means chasing you down, wasting a ton of NARC's and leaving themselves horribly exposed.

I usually drop the AC/10 and put the LB-10X because its super funny to wreck huge mechs and kill secure someone. Quad or Triple MG's is wonderful too as its equally humiliating to be gnawed to death by an Urbie.

yes they are ^^

There are people calling it useless, but it just plays comletely different than other lights. When everyone is targeting your mech because they want the kill on it specifficly there is no mech surviving long but WHEN they ignore you you can do significant damage in a match

I find this: UAC5 + 3x SL Quite attractive. The UAC5 has good range, and good ammo/ton, as well as it can double tap. That 3x SL might not have good range, but it does have good damage as backup. 97.2 KPH of the 180 engine might be good, but 91.8 KPH is kind of fast enough.

UAC5 + 2x ML is also nice too, trades off heat efficiency and damage for range but it's my best bet. I wish there is ER-ML for IS.

Although, any other ballistic builds? I'm not in to energy builds anymore, i already have lots of those.

All urbies can run a pretty similar loadouts because their hardpoints are very similar. I have found that it works best with AC10 or UAC5 for ballistics and 2xLL + 3MGs or 2xLPL for energy loadout. Always keep max jumpjets to play for it's strenghts, you're slow so you want to keep that vertical movement and unlikely attack vectors. I like playing with AC10 most but sadly it can't fit enough ammo so I usually play with large lasers.

For people saying it's bad. No it isn't, you just can't play it. Surprise surprise it's best on maps with urban geometry, which we have sadly only 2 on this game. So you want to vote for HPG manifold or mining collective every time you can, mordor and caustic will work well too with urbies strenghts. Crimson strait and river city aren't urban maps, they have nothing in common how real city looks so urbie isn't that good in them.

Stay close to heavies till engagement starts, then start poking around from unlikely places. You're stocky and short so you can fit under ramps in HPG and poke from corners with only your gun showing. Shoot few times when enemy is otherwise occupied and fade away when they turn to shoot you. Again, jumpjets are very important as you can always run away back to your team and attack from places enemy has hard time spotting you.

Those are more or less the builds I use as well.

You can get surprising mileage out of close range poptarting people with pulse lasers.

Just gotta treat it like a stumpy medium instead of a proper light. And leverage every edge you can out of the 360 torso twist.

I love my Urbies, first mechpack i ever bought.

None run JJ, all use every last weapon hard point, and all run big primaries backed up by numerous short range secondaries.

NOW GIVE ME AN URBANMECH HERO!
