Cmon, fellow forumers. What should the DHS be aptly named from now on, should the PTS values go through? Posted Image

Here is the new value, for reference.

Quote

Single Heat Sinks

• External Heat Sink Dissipation Rate: 0.12
• Engine Heat Sink Dissipation Rate: 0.12
• Heat Capacity: 1.2

Double Heat Sinks (Inner Sphere and Clan)

• External Heat Sink Dissipation Rate: 0.17
• Engine Heat Sink Dissipation Rate: 0.17
• Heat Capacity: 1

DHS Lite? Nah, that's the current version.

while we're at it, let's rename the clans (altogether) as House Falcon.

They can use the new Heat sanks. Heat scrubs. Fanless Multicore Heat Redirectors. Heat tribbles.

Poorer dubs, I guess? Not poorest dubs, because PGI can still find a way to make it worse. :P

They only dissipate 141% of the heat of a regular Heat Sink.

..they're not even time-and-a-half Heat Sinks.. let alone "double."

I do like the new lower heat threshold on the PTS.. but between DHS having a crap dissipation rate and the PTS still having Erectile Dysfunction.. blech..

Trippel Wet Towel. Cools your mech 3 times as good as a standard wet towel.

No pun intended Mr. PGI.

How about: "Two-step" Heat sinks. Like the dance of the same name, (and PGI's heat balancing) it is one step forward and two steps back.
Step forward: Heat sinks aren't supposed to increase the heat cap at all.
Step back: Single heat sinks raise the heat cap even more magically than doubles.
Step back: Double heat sinks dissipate less than 50% better than singles.

I will never understand why PGI leased an IP, and then threw most of it's working mechanics out of the window, just to hamstring themselves with convoluted bandaids of their own design.

I made a long winded reply about how the nicest and most advanced construction that uses lasers and steel and such things needs work done by hand and eye alone to be finished properly. Just the other day. I am not surprised that such a game like this needs that kind of work to be finished properly as well. The last stage of finishing walls and ceilings is the most dreaded part in all of construction or very close to it by the way. Which is why I don't envy the guys trying to get balance perfect for this game. Its a game but its being built much like construction and I think they get to much criticism for the work they do.

Yes I know kidding around is fun to. But fine work is not bandaids

Construction work is very methodical and well thought out from the beginning, unlike PGI's way of swinging balance from one side to the other, using dartboard. Posted Image

Right and buildings have been built for thousands of years. Many of those practices can be used for making computer games to but it is entirely new.

Building/construction still have idiot designers/architects to this day. No offense to anyone. The most recent huge mistake I know of was the leaky condo mess where I am from. Like hundreds of condos were designed by someones not aware of the rainy weather here so they leaked. Anyone can look it up. :)

Anyway these computer workers have to put up with way more than we had to thats for sure. Construction isn't the same now and isn't as big either, because that area has been over built now, but when it was full steam ahead us workers had a lot of respect. Sure we got slave wages but it wasn't for the money it was to keep us working at max speed. We got respect though.
