It'd be equally hilarious if both the Atlases and the Jenner IICs just had their tabletop engine ratings. Even there Atlases are slow as balls and Jenner IICs are damn speedy.

well you have a defender aka pursuit lance and you have the attacker aka recon lance

both lance types have a tonnage minimum and maximum in the BTU

~130-145 for recon
~160-175 for pursuit

tonnage is nothing you can build a game mode on. Considering you fights - do you feel that you have a huge handicap when you attack a Orion in a Stormcrow - or do you think the fight is equal?
