Faction warfare as it stands is...well, in my opinion the most efficient tool to repulse new players.
I got one of the founder packages back in the day and I'm not inclined to touch this gamemode anymore.

It's just no fun to hop blindfolded into a meatgrinder until the game reveals that you and some randoms are up against more or less a full unit from the same outfit camping this map and waiting for new randoms.

So my suggestion: Show the roster of both teams from the start and allow everyone to disconnect at will until the match starts.
Add some kind of search-function so two larger groups can clash together if they so desire.

If PGI does this they should give out an achievement for running away from battles.

...call it "Brave Sir Robin".

Welp, might as well call it "This ain't the training ground", because you can do about as much as one of those inert targets for a victory if you get in the wrong match.
No matter your skill, a team of unorganized randoms will never be able to hold a candle to a large organized group from an outfit and without a proper matchmaker for that game-mode, that's a fairly common thing.

Faction Play is war.
If you choose to solo in FP, then be prepared to fight as a team. If nobody steps up to command, take charge.

So, this might be a shock for you, but It's not war, it's a game. The same as the quickplay-mode is a game.
There's not much going on in regard of content except for the frequent cash-in with new mechpacks or the occasional event.

"Step up to command": See how many randoms listen.
"If you choose to solo in FP...": I didn't choose. Small playerbase, outfits with requirements for frequent participation, stuff to do in real life, family-life. I guess you can fill in the gaps.

FP is the "war" part of the game. As in war, sometimes the enemy is better/more organized. Accept it and have fun, or do something about it. Asking for a safe zone is the wrong answer.

I have called a drop in the PuG queue, it isn't hard to do.
There are many umits in MW:O that are pretty casual.

You are just making excuses.

You think we "Wait for randoms?" Correction: We wait for MATCHES. The whole point is to play versus people, regardless of who they are.

We have no way of controlling who we fight, but you should know that when you click "attack," you concent to fighting whoever is ready to engage you.

To put into practice what you're suggesting means the 12-mans never get any fights. Once you see a 12-man MS, KCOM, or 228th group, you really think people are going to stick around waiting to be clobbered?

My advice: Don't drop alone.

Refer to my topic on this matter.
