I just hope the external heat transfer quirk is not tied to 8/8 omnipods.

Actually...if it is...then you can eliminate it if you want by mixing pods and optimize your mech for cold maps. ;)

"EXTERNAL HEAT TRANSFER QUIRK

To account for their use of Laser Heat Sinks in BattleTech lore, all Night Gyr variants possess a -100% External Heat Transfer quirk. This causes the Night Gyr to ignore all environmental Heat effects that would normally affect the Heat state of other 'Mechs. Whereas a normal 'Mech dropping on a hot map such as Terra Therma would run at a higher base Heat depending on the number of Heat Sinks it has equipped, the Night Gyr always runs at a base Heat of 0%. Further, the Night Gyr can trudge through environmental hot spots with no penalty to its base Heat.On the other hand, the Night Gyr receives no boost to its Heat Sink efficiency on cold maps." (from Day 5 OP)

So, you're saying: here's a reason to use your dropdecks. Create drop decks for hot maps with the Night Gyr, and drop decks for cold maps with T-Wolfs. The question is: are you adding this quirk for sake of variety, or to allow those who have pre-paid to have an advantage on certain maps over the rest of us, which is a violation of your original promises to not make this game pay-to-win. For the first couple months, the Night Gyr sounds exactly like pay-to-win. Or is this an artificial way to encourage use to create drop decks by map?

The way to make this fair is to give quirks to some other already existing energy boats like the Grasshopper to give one or more of those variants a similar quirk. (Or create a non-space/tonnage taking option to switch up your heat sinks to these types of heat sinks.) Problem solved. Am I right?

If I'm not mistaken there is an IS heavy or assault with the same quirk but only at I think 50%. It's not p2w. The pod space is limited but the tonnage is mostly free. Plus without mobility quirks it'll be like the dire, good from the front soft from everywhere else.

Also the laser heat sinks were a one off tech limited to just the gyr. The side effect was a light show. Now if the light show is in game I'm going to be running a night light as often as possible

Do we do the same for the Cyclops' Tacticon B-2000 Battle Computer and the Urbanmech's 360 degree torso twist?

Considering most maps people choose are neither neutral or cold, the 100% immunity from external heat effects is kinda negative quirk, but fairly small one at that.

Most omnimecs which have uniform property across all variats, have it on CT, so it's unlikely something you can drop off.

Do we get the laser-light show when this thing sheds heat?

my question for PGI is "Ar those quirks on the CT, or are they 8 piece set quirks? if it's the latter, then they and the mech are basically worthless, as it's slow unmaneuverable, and I WILL be requesting a refund on everything I've preordered that i've not gotten yet.

Is it possible to cancel preorder?

I've not bought it but Night Gyr seems ok, closer to assult than Timber Wolf in capacity and speed.

Hope so Posted Image

Well the quirks are okay at least fitting for Prime, ABC but the D need missile quirks and JK ballistic quirks judging by the 4+ hardpoints for those weapon types. Yeah I know, omnipods, but still!

And yeah, make the NG GLOW

Can you people make up your mind? It's either P2W because of the heat quirk, or DOA because it will steer like a schoolbus.
You're getting a Timberwolf plus extra tonnage, minus the speed and I'm assuming similarly good hitboxes.

Oh and the 'mech goes 64kph, said that on the preorder page. Did you only just realize you bought the only clan heavy that went slower than 70kph be default? Jinkies winkies. Personally, the heat quirk would be a godsend on any hot map, and hell, it's extra insurance if you're running a hot build and don't want to do the walk of shame on Tourmaline because your build doesn't function at all.

In a word, you get what was advertised on the preorder page, can't really blame PGI for your lack of foresight on the 'Huh maybe they wont give it many quirks like many of the Clan 'mechs recently.' Pattern recognition, stop making me defend PGI, they still wont give me my Commando IIC.

That would be monumentally dumb, given every single one has that quirk on it's pods.

Doesn't mean it couldn't happen, unfortunately :(
