That would mean not announcing things until they are ready to release, which people also complain about. People ask for road maps looking forward, don't b***h about it.

Sometimes, things don't work out. I'd rather it be scrapped/delayed than crammed in absolutely broken. And a base assault mode is inherently difficult; look at how just having turrets was awkward and campy. When you have a strong position, there's little reason to leave. As the new assault was a symmetrical mode, there's a very strong probability that people were just refusing to leave their bases.

Agreed, and I feel new assault they should instead make Asymmetrical, probably works out better that way, forces one side to act.

I think they should just bring back turrets to assault, and tie um to mechs.. 12 turrets, as each mech is destroyed, one turret is shut down.


the only thing they really need to do, is put the LRM turrets in the rear.. though i never had an issue with them.. No idea how people bitched about them all the time. I don't run ECM mechs, and yet never was killed by an LRM turret.. Outside of a desperate attempt to take a base at the very end of a match with a nearly destroyed mech


then give us another mode.. I'd be happy with that.. as long as it is nothing like Dom.. which needs a major improvement.. But just adding 2-3 Dom location, and making it random, attached to different spawn points would be a huge improvement over what it is now.


Assault with turrets made the mode at least interesting in different, and gave you a bit of warning that a base rush was happening in PUG's, and seeing that has the highest player base, i think that should be taken into account.

This is good news. It tells us that PGI either listened to the forum about the bad/wonky mechanic of the mode or that after 4 months of testing they found out what everyone else knew a day after the announcement.

And I'm sure that's why it's not like that.

That's definitely Why We Can't Have Nice Things; because god forbid if some precious snowflake is hurt.

To be sure, asymmetrical game modes are hard to balance well. But for random quickplay matches? There's already so much random in match balance, it's not like that of all things is the be all/end all, and comp/tourney play can require paired asymmetrical matches or just ignore that mode entirely.

But...

We can't have nice things.

I got a question. When did the backing from players start for Star Citizen? Just curious because I wonder if they knew that game would be in its current state last quarter 2017, if they would back it or not.

I am guessing it is another mode for fp for heavy and assaults to offset the scouting matches. maybe patrols or heavy skirmish.

end of 2012. however the more money people spend the more features got added and more people got employed. Id guess more people would have put money in if they'd new how much bigger it would turn out to become soon.
