RVN-3L Uber Scout

With 136 KPH with speed tweak you can get away from most things, you have ECM to help hide your small light mech, you carry a narc and tag for your friendly lrm boats, and you have an er large laser for long range poking.

How to play this mech? Simple don't get caught. Find the enemy at range then stay at range and use Tag. No lrms rain on the enemy then stay at range and poke them. If lrms come in then continue to spot with tag. If enemy team sends light mechs at you narc them and RUN AWAY!!! You goal is to spot, tag, narc, and not get killed. Lastly do damage, and that is why you have an er large laser for range.

(Only recommend for none tier 1 solo cue, and groups setup for lrm ... also lrm in FW because apparently people be taking them there.)

I'd personally would increase the engine rating to 295, and replace the ERLL with 2xMPL. Too much temptation to use the ERLL when one should be spotting. 2xMPL would also be better at finishing off the enemy near the end of the game.

Narc is better on your torso so you wont lose it as it's your main weapon, no point on not taking max engine as you won't really sacrifice anything for it.

My configuration as well, 2MPLs, TAG, NARC, ECM, XL295. Fun (and money maker) mech. One match in Polar Highland I had 5 NARC Kills (50K extra C-Bills)...

Meh, only having a single large laser just doesn't cut it. You'd be better off taking the TAG off (after all you got NARC already).

I have to disagree with removing the tag because I have the narc. The narc is great at marking targets with in 300 meters but at 400 it is just to slow and then you are getting out of range with that. While the tag has greater range and you can keep the target lit. As for the ER Large well the goal isn't for the Uber Scout to do damage but to spot and having an ER Large allows poke damage at range which keeps you alive for more spotting. Unlike having Medium Pulses you are more likely to get in range to use them which then shortens your life because you are more likely to get spotted and killed.

Now as for having medium pulses for a bigger engine isn't a bad idea because bigger engine would help in keeping you alive longer by being able to run away quicker. As for those who believe the arc should be in side torso ... well I went with arm mount for shooting up and down hills, were as if the narc was in side torso you are less of gun depression angel and elevation angel.

The energy loadout is a joke. If you can see them, they can see you and you will lose those trades handily. The Raven does have missile velocity quirks that stack with in enhanced NARC module. I don't believe you when you say 400 meter shots are hard. I do it all the time.

If you are missing shots you can always mount a second NARC and take two rapid shots at a target. Something will stick. I agree with the others that a short range secondary is much preferable to single ER large.

I actually had a rare donk sighting here on the freeway in LA...even had Georgia license plates and everything.
