I think most people would agree streaks need some work. (In my view) IS streaks are basically worthless.
Clan streaks are only worth using if its the 6 pack and you run at least 3 of them.

I like to hear people ideas on what we could do to improve this.

My two,
Idea #1
  • i would like to see streaks hit the CT again .
  • Balance dmg, and cooldown to make IS2 ,clan 2 worth taking.
  • Change the tracking speed. Allow faster moving mechs to dodge the weapons.
  • Make sure they have a large spread but not so large they're worthless to take. Maybe srm6 size.
Basically srms with "some locking" but not as good at making pin point dmg to keep balance.

Idea #2
  • ct dmg again,
  • balance dmg/cooldown
  • Larger spread than srm
But this time require the pilot to always hold lock on the mech. If the target comes off the mech at any time it drops lock and they continue like srms. This would turn them into more skill based weapon closer to srm. Due to being more skilled based they should be more powerful than idea #1 but not as much as standard srm.

I'd be fine with them working like short range LRMs so if you don't torso twist they hit your CT, but if you do you can block them with arms and ST.

Faster lock time (Or dumbfire mode), but you have to hold the circle on the target to keep the lock would be interesting.
The dumbfire mode would be even less accurate than regular SRMs, but those would typically be used for point blank snap shots anyway, so it wouldn't matter as much.

I like both your ideas, short range lrms could work out really good. This would help the 1-2shot kills of light but could still be worth taking.

Dumb fire mode would be great add on .

I've been saying they should fire more like the Clan LRM's do at short range for a long time. I'm all for that adjustment being made.
