Simple question: Are the Arty and Airstrike modules worth buying and equipping. I've never bother to buy either of them. I've got a spare 8 million lying around and wanted to see if they help with the spread of the arty nerf?

I use them. They are a nice addition, if you got cash to spare.

They're a mixed bag. Because they tighten the spread, they'll cause your arty to do way more damage to a mech you hit squarely, but conversely because they hit a smaller area, if your target moves you may do less or no damage. Also, because it's a narrower area, you're not hitting as many mechs if they're clumped.

IMHO, the arty modules are more worthwhile if you're small and fast, as you can sneak around to good arty dropping locations.

Get the improved, not the module

Better modules to use in the same space versus use on a one shot item that will have an impact on more events

Well for what i remember ( maybe a patch note 3 years ago ? ) arty modules were like a remplacement as "improved" arty level up in skill tree...
I am not sure both bonuses of module and pilot tree are additionnals ...
Well i am not sure it isnt too...


In fact PGI, like usual, is so clear about equipements, weapons, modules and skill ...

Edit: There is no mentions about thoses arty accuracy in smurfy, but i guess it can be additional with arty pilot tree upgrade coze they aren't exactly same bonuses ( damn 3 years old memory ).

Well like others said thoses accuracy modules aren't really interesting compared to sensor range, targeting time or of course sismic/radar depr...
Waste of cbills IMO ( i have only 1 never used i can sell you if you want 2,000001 cbills).

Thanks for all the input. I've got all skills tree maxed and 12 of the important modules. I think i'll bite the bullet and try them.

Improved arty/air - yes, 15,000GXP, improves every arty/air strike for ever!!!
arty/air accuracy - no, plus it costs a module slot every time you use it which means you leave behind TIG or Rdep
improved UAV - yes, 15,000 the extra time in the air and distance viewed is worth it

if I had to pick one it would be improved UAV

Seismic Wallhack and Radar Derp. Those are your choices for mech modules.

I like the improved because you can bypass the MC requirement and they do not take up a slot.

In group play and fw with a team the strikes can be good but shine as suppression. The UAV seems to be best for QP.

Seismic and Derp are better for your general slots. In my opinion.
