Was there a shadow Nerf to the Spirit Bear's Masc or what, as I never saw anything regarding it in the last couple months patches. It feels much more sluggish/quicker to Max out than it did, and that's just more or less recently. This is coming from someone who dropped in the SB almost extensively since it launched in May. Might not be a lot to some but 237 drops in it, and I got pretty comfortable with it. Just an observation, anyone else notice a difference? Granted you would have had to played it from launch to have any worthwhile input...

I don't run masc in my SB any more, I just rely on the XL400 and it's 70 kph. It does fine at that. I have better uses for the crits and tonnage. I also found that masc just always seemed to be running red and was so damned slow to cool off that it just wasn't worth taking.

Ya Carnage, I go in bouts sometimes and take it off for max fire power. Still...

I find MASC isn't really all that important if you consider just for the top speed on the Assault class mechs that have it.
But it is incredibly important for the burst in acceleration and deceleration which allows your Assault mech to now stop and start on a dime! Even though I don't own the Kodiak, I would probably prefer to drop it down to an XL350/375 just to keep the MASC for that acceleration perk!

The issue with that capper is at that point your tonnage exceeds available hit points. Has two energy, 1 ballistic and 4 missile.

There was an update where they changed some of the values on all the MASC classes, though that was quite some time ago. In any case they shortened the duration and increased the bonuses so overall you get the same values.. maybe that's why you feel its always high on the bar.. not sure about how much it was changed and which class benefit from it the most, but overall it wasnt a nerf.
P.S. I really enjoy it on my scat! Not sure how effective it is for the tonnage but its pure fun coupled with JJs!
EDIT: found the patch notes!
Here is the section about MASC:

Sitting on over 800 drops since release in the Spirit Bear myself and can't say it is behaving any differently from what I've noticed. However, I now have my suspicions and I wouldn't to be surprised. I believe I read somewhere that they will be changing the amount of damage MASC does on leg parts to Assault classes to balance them with Medium class leg damage, but that may be just on the test realm.
That being said, I only use MASC in very limited circumstances, hence my suspicions and doubting myself. Those would be like quick bursts in and out of cover, getting my fat *** up a hill, and always pulsed in a brawl. Instant max speed forwards and backwards in a brawl with an extra 20kph on top is aces in my book. The MASC on the Spirit Bear has me absolutely in love the thing, well, everything about the Spirit Bear has me in love with it really. In my opinion the MASC really makes the Kodiak shine and I really hope they haven't messed with the MASC mechanics.

Imo, a 390 with masc beats a 400 without.
