Due to the return of the charge mechanics, the max range of 1980 -- 3x of effective range should be returned once again.

So far, at least to my knowledge, that immense range is the selling point of gauss. As with ED, it was a pseudo AC/15, only with low heat and AC/5 range, but explodes, very heavy and takes a lot of space. Now it's not anymore because of the return of the charge.

Its not the range as much, but the curve of the damage drop/ bullet drop that excel with the higher range. The range per say is good on specific maps and builds, but does the world need quad gauss assaults hiding in the back on every map.

As with ED, Gauss limit is just two.

Besides, yes. It's a perfectly legitimate strategy to have fire support from afar, likewise rewarding to be able to touch enemies from afar. 2000 projectile speed may be fast, it is still quite a feat to actually hit people 1980m away, much more with the charge mechanic.

Sorry, i see this constantly and its annoying, because it doesnt mean anything.. the phrase you are looking for is per se. Per say would mean ... every say?

per se

pəː ˈseɪ/

adverb!
adverb: per se
  • by or in itself or themselves; intrinsically.

"it is not these facts per se that are important

  • synonyms: in itself, of itself, by itself, as such, intrinsically; by its very nature, in essence, by definition, essentially

"possessing a knife was not per se an unlawful act"

I agree. C -gauss with 1320m range, has less than c-erppc range or c-erLL range with all the drawbacks a gauss has.
