I don't see how espurts are related here. I think the more relevant meme is Minimum Viable Product.

That works. I'm out of the loop, ya see?

Slightly back on topic, the Warhawk is another mech that this comes up with. One of the variants (I think the C) has an arm omnipod with an actuator. Running that single omnipod magically gives your other arm full range of movement....

But like you said, MVP right?

In this specific example, the Whalehawk's arms always have elbows on the visual model, it's just that those elbows are entirely useless unless you have the right arm (plus LAA) of the Alternate C installed.

What I mean is that you would have to sacrifice the mobility of the LEFT arm that has both a fist and an elbow, not just the high-mounted right arm.

MWO doesn't let you have one mobile arm and one restricted arm at the same time.

It'd be no different than the Victor, the first mech in MWO to miss is Right lower-arm actuator, but retain a full lower in the left. They just gave both partial movement, rather than the full range or none.

The Victor is in the same boat as the Grand Dragon where (in many BT art depictions) its right arm was supposed to be mounted high-up like a Jagermech's arm.

Ugly BT art:

PGI's art department, however, made the right arm mounted low just like the left arm.

None of which makes any sense from a mech design or simulation standpoint. Oh, what could have been...

With the recent heavy mech store discounts I figured I'd add another 60 ton mech to my stables. I've always been a fan of the Dragon and even more so after the recent re-scale. The one HUGE sore thumb about the Dragon though is the right arm... that fugly right arm. I don't think there is another mech that looks worse, all things considered.

I like the big whammer on the dragons. One of mine is named Hellboy for that very reason. I own four, both heroes, the champion 5N, and the 1N. The 5N of mine has a 3.0 W/L and 3.25 K/D ratio. Dragons (and quickdraws to an extent also) are nice in that the 300 rating engine is sorta the peak sweet spot for engine sizes, being able to hold 12 heat sinks, and on a 60 ton deliver an 81 top speed. The XL version is 15.5 tons.
