I'm pretty sure the lack of balance updates is because the skill tree hasn't even dropped yet and we are still waiting to see how the balance of the game will do with it implemented, if it's a good system, if it needs major/minor tweaking, etc

Except that the skill tree will give equal boosts to all weapons anyway, so the crappy LBX is still going to remain crappy.

It's not even out yet and we have no evidence beyond screenshots of what bonuses will be, of which might not be totally accurate themselves.

Even so, there are many mechs and I'd be willing to bet a mech pack that there will be some lb-x specific skills for certain mechs/variants.

Super high-mounts? - check;
Good tonnage? - check;
Good speed? - check;
ECM? - check;
Optional jumpjets? - check.
(chicken legged? -check)

EDIT: not to mention 42 tons of pod space and a lot of room for weapons.

It's a good thing Paul loves the Blood Asp - that means MWO will need to add those new tech weapons sooner or later.
