Why I write this:
I had a FW Incursion match earlier the day. I choose my LCT-PB for the first drop as no one else was on a light. So I did sneaky Locust stuff and collecting batteries, keeping both radar and jammer live, with hardly an break. I managed to get and drop of 12 cells before the enemy got me (and I really think that is quite a contribution to the team...). Just after I got killed, I got a comment on my "great" damage sharing...
Damage sharing... in a locust... say that again, but slooowly.
So I finally had the reason to post this, as I carry the idea around with me for quite a while. There is an easy way to change Incursion by just a wee bit and achieving a really large effect:
My actual suggestion:
Make the dropship that is called in by the AC tower not shoot mechs, but the enemie's base buildings. And set apriority toe the 'functional' buildings!
That way, there would be reason to fight for the energy cells and the game would not be 'kill the others and then scratch the paint of a building'.
Thoughts?

I'd say to just have the dropships appear at both bases and over the most common fighting areas, and make them destructible. (with like 1000 hp and armor per side) Have a cell cause a single drop for all areas instead of multiple drops for just the entrance of the enemy base, (where it is completely useless in every way imaginable) and stay for double the time. Also, give all the dropships lore-appropriate weapons, instead of whatever they have now with lasers.

First of all you have my sympathy. I too was yelled at being a pu$$y player because I kept capping to the very end in my PB on polar and actually win the game subsequentally. And because I spent my UAVs and did no damaga I ended up paying for restocking my stuff because I had 0 dmg and made practically no cbills.
I think too that non Skirmish modes need incentives that are actually rewarding mission play instead of turning anything into skirmish anyway. Especially incursion was supposed to push smart play. No wonder light pilots are arming their Mechs up to go shred bigger Mechs instead of aiming for mission goals. Making More Money! Highly rewarding mission play could change that.
