The point is he has applied the meme of "*pounces on u and notices ur bulge* OwO What's this...?" onto a mechwarrior medium by saying "*scouts your position and notices your entire team* OwO What's this...?" Get it? Same meme, just changed the context. It's not exactly clever and I think you're overthinking it.
