So I am hearing that the lawsuit by Harmony Gold against Piranha Games, Harebrained Schemes, and Jordan Weisman (Battletech creator) was dismissed with prejudice with the judge denying every claim HG made including that they even have the copyrights to the 41 unseen!!!!
Whooohoooo!!!

Bring on the Stinger and Wasp and Crusader and more!!!!! (please?)

Linkage please?

I know that ones against HBS and Wiseman were dropped (settled out of court), but last I hear PGI was still taking HG to task.

That may be true that PGI is still attempting to spank them! LOL

I got the info from here and from Ken Shaw's comments (he has been following the legal battle closely over reddit).

Well if this is true, then this will be the one an only time that it will be OK for RB to show up drunk for a Townhall twitch broadcast.

Regardless of my views of PGI and MWO at this point this is the single best thing they have done for the Battletech franchise and they deserve credit for bringing those Eh-Holes at Harmony Gold to their knees.

To the best of my knowledge, only the lawsuit against HBS has been dismissed; the lawsuit against PGI is still on-going.

Yeah, will wait until something written is seen before jumping of joy.

Pretty sure the OP missed the details in the HBS dismissal and made a few logic jumps.

To my knowledge, only HBS (edit: and Jordan) is now free from the lawsuit. To clarify; HBS was never included over the unseen, so it doesn't free them to start using them, either. We need to wait for resolution between HG and PGI.

Where are you getting this information from OP? The court ruling was supposed to commence on May 4th of this friday. I think you got the information wrong about PGI in this case. They dismissed HBS and Jordan Weisman from the case but PGI is still in the fight. I think we should hear something no later than May 18th if I recall correctly.

It's HBS and Jordan Weisman. Only PGI is still in the case but hopefully not for long now.

I thought they were the same entity for the sake of this lawsuit, but I'll edit my post. Thanks for the correction.

Sarna's writer misunderstood the document in question and misrepresented what actually happened.
Docket 104 - Stipulation of dismissal with prejudice of Harebrained & Weisman
Note that this isn't a court order, it's a stipulation jointly filed by both HG and HBS. Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 41(a) refers to voluntary dismissal.
The judge later ruled dismissal as a result of that stipulation - cf Docket 116. Do note that he was just rubberstamping the stipulation - no review of the claim's merits has taken place.
Now, the dismissal only pertained to the claims in Harmony Gold's second amended Complaint, found on pages 16 & 17.
The Marauder, Warhammer, Rifleman, Archer and Phoenix Hawk designs are still under dispute as part of the claims against Piranha. They will remain so until either the case goes to court or Piranha's motion for summary judgement is granted. Until then, HG still has a claim to the designs even if its' legal basis is somewhere between shaky and nonexistent.
If HBS reinserted the mechs now, this would give HG cause for either dragging them back in under new claims or filing a new lawsuit against them.
