I am here to relate something what happened to me right now in one PUG match and show how the report system can be used for malicious players.

I was using one Mauler and shooting without stop in the enemy while one player with the name [Redacted] crossed my line of fire and received some damage.

After that the player shot me and blamed me.

I said he shouldnt cross when someone is shooting and after that the player waited me give my back and then, he destroyed my leg and moved on.

My mech was completelly imobilized and my game ruined for no reason.

He also mocked me after that.

I warned the team about his action and nobody gave a [Redacted] about it.

I got angry by the way 11 players on my team dealt with it and i killed him.

Guess what.....i got 11 reports imediatelly.

So, the player destroys my mech for no reason and when i got revenge, just becuse he died i got the guilt.

I want to make sure everyone knows the player name and know why this game is going to ruin every single day.

Congratulations 11 players. You done justice in the game.

Your post is a violation of the TOS for "name and shame." Don't name the player, send your complaint to mwo support (someone will be here shortly to give you the email link I'm sure).

Additionally, 11-reports....how do you know? It's not like you get a ticker showing you being reported. Did all 11 players say they reported you? Secondly, it only matters IF PGI acts on it.

Don't retaliate against bullies in this game. If he shoots you and immobilize you, report him and carry on with life. Friendly fire happens, just now I blasted a mech when I saw a red triangle but no blue until I zoomed back. A heartfelt sorry and the battle rages on towards victory.

It's not really taking advantage if nothing comes from it. The only thing you should do is take a few screenshots or video and send them to support. Then get on with your day.

So I dont hold much faith in the reporting system but if enough people report then that person will get banned (we hope)

First, you're naming and shaming.

Second, your team didn't do anything because there was nothing they could do. You two had a spat, damage was done, and then the guy went on his way. There was nothing to be gained by destroying him, except a guaranteed lose.

Three, you screwed your team over. By making the match 11 to 12, you pretty much gave up a victory. You dived head first into the gutter after someone else, and you deserve what you got.

If someone intentionally shoots you, report them and move on. Be the bigger man or suffer the consequences.

edit: In case the original poster is unfamiliar with it, such a teamkill would have also triggered the automated penalty system -- penalizing the teamkill and friendly fire damage with a timeout, regardless of reports sent. A similar penalty would have also been applied to the problem player who drew his ire if enough friendly fire damage was scored past the penalty system's limit.
