The Obutto, is not just bang for the buck, severeral of my fellow members @ simjunkies have the Obutto and they absolutely luv thiers. You can get several attatchments to make it more multi-role, whitch I find to be the hardest part of building a pit.Its easy to build just a racing or flying pit but when you need it to do other things...well devices get in the way of other devices so comprimise is usually the only answer and that sux, the Obutto does it all.

I am currently entering the primary stages of building a Battletech Virtual World 2.5/3.0 pod. In the end, it will look similar to this only with three monitors on an actuator that moves them from a folded sitting position to a deployed wide position when the door is closed. I will probably at some point enlarge the front part of the sim to allow for true expansion of said monitors. I've been an avid arcade machine builder for a while so I'm familiar with auxiliary controls. The challenge will be what MWO will allow for in multiple screens aside from the main screen.

Very cool, rather impressive too. My skills are more in destruction when it comes to physical things. And being left-handed I have a very hard time finding things that work for me. But I am so impressed by this that I may work on creating a simpit myself. And then find a new place to live after my g/f tosses me out.

My G/F told me "if you want to a) die, b)sleep outside, or c)be single again then you can build one..." then she gave me "the eye"
... so being a stupid male.. i'm gonna try to convince her again later. Make it a "gameing office" of sorts. keep the PC and gear out of the way.

i think for starters i´ll try to get a cheap sports seat (recaro.. what ever) , install a throttle, keyboard, joystick setup on it and see what else i can do with it over time... at the end i hope for a complete simpit in a 100 feet high mech sculpture, including movement simulators :(

hey, dreams create future

Holy crap when did they take my photo?!
Just kidding not really me. But i was there in '96 and '98. Don't think i'll use dryer vent tubing for a cooling system either.

Here's a late entry, but a new idea for this thread. It's a mechpit I'm making, based off a recumbent exercise bike, outlined here:
