EDIT: Just disregard my previous text, I misread the TRO.

Probably avoided because it's too similar to other models, and because it's got two potential hero versions of it.

ummm... then how do explain the quickdraw. The only difference between the non-hero variants we have is the left torso. 1M, 2M, or 2E. And two of them come identical in stock format.

The 4H should have lost the SRM4 for 2 rear firing MLs, but since PGI won't give us those, they should have been 2 front firing ML. Instead they lose 2 JJ for another Missile hardpoint.

And I still don't know why they don't add in the rear firing laser points now. Lock them at Small and Medium Lasers and use the AI they use for dropships to target. It would help with harassers without being too powerful.

Ever seen the Quickdraw's official variants? There's a ton of them, and they're all the same. It's pretty much impossible to provide 3 completely distinct models (With the weapons set in game, anyway).

The Banshee, on the other hand, has a much deeper bench.

If they had even stuck with Sarna loadouts they would be more different.

4G 1E, 1M,1M, 2E,1E
4H 1E, 1M, 2E, 2E, 1E
5K 1E, 2E, 1M, 2E, 1E

The other problem PGI runs into is that in TRO you have variants based on their stock loadouts. If they swap an AC10 for a Gauss, it changes the variant name. In MWO, they are the same basic mech since weapons can be replaced at a whim.

To me, that's another reason to bring in sized hardpoints.

I think you need to go recheck the 4H's Battletech, or 'Sarna,' loadout.

Sarna ..... the 4H variant essentially swaps the SRM-4 launcher with the two rear-firing medium lasers. While a time-consuming process, it is a straightforward procedure and can be done in the field by any competent tech support facility. Otherwise, the 4H is identical to the 4G model.

ah... I read it as swap FOR. my bad. So they brought out two identical mechs then with PGI's lack of any rear firing weapons. Even worse in my opinion.

I don't believe the hardpoint configuration is better than the 3S. Its only appeal is a higher engine cap. Another downside is you lose a crit to the extra hand actuator.

They could give the 5S less Energy hardpoints or something to balance out the engine cap.

EDIT: Nvm.. that stock loadout uses all of them... geez
