Hey, I still run and actually am quite fond of my Atlas. Oddly enough, what got me into Atlases was the Kodiak. I play my KDK-2 in much the same way an Atlas is played, and when I saw myself doing that (KDK was the first 100 tonner I ever owned), I thought "Hey, isn't this how you're supposed to play an Atlas? If I'm having so much fun doing this in a Kodiak I bet I love myself an Atlas." So after I mastered my KDK-2 I went out and bought an Atlas and never looked back.

Atlai, specifically

As in, you'll take no more than 1 in MRBC, because you can take 2 Kodiaks instead.

I just say it to get a rise out of people.

Google says this about the plural of Atlas:

"When used to refer to collections of maps, it is "atlases". However, in architecture, where atlas is a column in the form of a standing or kneeling figure, the plural form of the word is "atlantes""

Since a 'mech is more of a standing figure than it is a collection of maps... perhaps you could get a rise out of people by saying "Atlantes" and be technically correct at the same time.
