It's obvious that no online (PvP) Mechwarrior or BattleTech game can successfully get balance right because, per BT lore, and also per previous MW games, the Clans have better tech and overall more powerful battlemechs. Period.
Trying to balance that power between the Clans and the Inner Sphere, for lack of a better phrase, "breaks" the game.
Quirks, ghost heat, and ghost heat 2.0 in MWO just underscores this.

Stick to the precedent set by previous MW games and make clans OP as they are 'by the lore' of Battletech.
Make pug Quick Play drops all IS vs IS *or* all Clan vs Clan.
That get's rid of the 'unfair' argument. Leave the IS vs Clan stuff for CW.

Provide "balance" in CW with not allowing Clans to use artillery and airstrikes. That's dezgra for Clanners, right?
Set IS vs Clan battles to: four IS lances vs three Clan stars.

Just adding the suggestions from this post alone would make the game feel more "Mechwarrior-ish."
