It might be interesting to have a smaller scale game mode in the form of an Arena / Colosseum mode.

You'd have smaller maps in the form of an oval arena with cover and obstacles (and maybe a cheering crowd).
There could be quick 1vs1 / 2vs2 / 3vs3 matches but also ladder tournaments where your rewards increase the further you get.

You could reward players who win the tournament several times in a row with special titles
or even feature a seperate reputation system similar to the mercenary career one.
