I had a rather unusual thing happen last night while working on my tournament kills. I ambushed a Kintaro LRM boat with my SRM brawler and managed to take him down in very short order. I got a solo kill, despite there being some LRM support on him, but did not get a Kill most damage dealt. I didn't think it was possible to get that particular combination. I know you can get the KMDD if you don't manage a killing blow, but do a majority of the damage, but if you get the solo kill, surely you should get a KMDD since you were the only one doing significant damage.
Any ideas about how this could have worked out? I'm not upset about it, just curious.

The only way I could imagine this happened is that another one did the exact same amount of damage... BUT...
It still wouldn't be possible. Solo Kill = KMDD + Kill Shot. That is the definition given a long time ago. So there has to be a bug.

I think its one or the other but not both
Solo kill (Gold Medal) or if you did most of the work but couldn't finish the job so KMDD (Silver Medal)
Cant win both Gold and Silver for the same mech killed.

No, if you get a Solo Kill, you'll get the KMDD for it as well.
As for OP... not sure what anyone can do without a screenshot.

A solo kill is specifically a KB + KMDD on the same mech, so you should have been credited with the KMDD as well.
...but during the FP2 event I had one KMDD that was accounted for in my invasion totals but not in my KMDD by weight class totals.

ohh. I always wondered about.
I just killed an Atlas in one alpha and got a solo kill. Obviously I wasn't fighting it solo since it was already cored. I always assumed this was a bug.

Nay, a solo kill will always come with the kmdd. Your summary screen will always show an equal amount or a kmdd count higher than solo kill count. Might have just missed the pop up
