Don't get me wrong, people will still dislike it for largely the same reasons:
-Dark
-Tall rock formations/mountains
-Ditches with bridges
With just the one, very obvious feature, that maybe people won't need to complain about.
But it's pretty, so there's that!

What you didn't like the Pugroaster?
Would be interesting to actually fight on other parts of the map for once, I'll agree.

Nothing in the news, not in Russ' Tweets, not on instagram, no link in this thread, no other thread ...

The real reasons to hate TT are the layout and...nope, just the layout. Heat and tile set are fine, but that center ring ruins the map. If it's gone, could be a fine map.

Huntsman's cockpit preview takes place in new terra therma...

countdown to huntsman topic also contains few screenshots
It looks like they've flattened the crater area by A LOT. I've got good feelings about this.

So everyone just fights in the center of the map, basically. Old Terra Therma was like that too. All those smaller volcanoes made engagements difficult in the outer reaches of the map, because a small flanking maneuver is at least 2 kilometers of walking in many places.
I'm worried that new Terra Therma will be very pretty, but full of bottlenecks. Thus, the map will effectively be much smaller than it appears as first glance. Like most MWO maps.

And if people still refuse to play this one, it's all going to be a colossal waste of time, money, and other very limited resources.

I doubt reworking a map takes as much combined effort like making a new one.
On the other hand, old small maps like forest, river or frozen would be great for scouting mode or that other 4v4 mode we "should" have

I agree with this in literally every other case. But TT is utterly worthless and should be removed. A new map from the same tileset...fine and dandy.

Then you'd be surprised to know that apparently PGI cannot create a new map based on an older one without replacing the latter.

I'm not going to look for it but there is a post from PGI that seem to suggest just that.

I'm going to have to disagree with you here. I love Terra Therma precisely because it is hellishly hot and dark and induces a lot of player mistakes that are ripe for exploitation.
