IMO, ALL Mechs with weapon quirks are overbuffed. I can see the need for some armor, structure and accel/decel quirks if the Mech is just plain a $hit design to try to make it better but there should be no weapon quirks. All it accomplishes in adding constant weapon quirks is screwing with balance and contributing to power creep.

Mechs with poor hardpoints need weapon quirks

Some even need GodQuirks (those 50% off ones)
Spider 5V being a prime suspect......who doesn't get it....

But they should not be the baseline for balance, which is exactly what PGI is doing
Only quirked Spheroid mechs compete against the good Clams, which should not be the case

That is rich coming from the Clan that captured Hohiro Kurita, did not realize who he was, failed to recapture him, then cowardly bombarded a city from orbit.

Don't forget that bit where they were the first clan to be completely wiped off the map by outsiders. While the rest of the clans twiddled their thumbs and pretended not to notice.

You can contribute that to the three fusionaires I already had, mercenary . Of course you wouldnt know the feeling after a long fought battle that ended in a glorious win worthy of a few lines in the remembrance, franeg?!

You help to start an invasion that I truly believe was against Kerensky's will, and you should live with the consequences.

This kind of stuff makes me so angry..

PGI logic: Should we correct the massive outlier, king of all trades, high hardpoint wielding God mech, or this little fun mech that is barely viable because of it's XL reliance and easy to hit and discern (from all angles) ST hitboxes. Which btw aren't shielded by it's arms which contain all of it's weapons..

Let's go with the latter... someone bought a kodiak collectors pack last week, can't touch that!

The problem is that KDK is really hard to nerf. Unless you re-draw the weapon mounts. And/or give it negative quirks.

Giving negative quirks are bad design making. And re-drawing the weapon mounts will cause a rage storm and is a major revamp.

I think they hope to solve the KDK issues with Energy Draw. Thus they not nerfing it now. Also helps that people want to OP and thus are buying them alot.

In all PvP games, alot of the time, the new hero/mech/class is OPed or really underwhelming. If they are OPed, near every company takes their time collecting data. PGI is the same. The long data collection time helps to find out really how OPed it is compared to forum overreactions and to help more people buy the mech/class/hero.

So... basically nothing new here.

Here's a grand idea:
Remove all quirks from the Kodiak-3

Simple as that, start there
As that won't be enough, touch torso yaw down a bit. That WILL have an impact on survivability, and angles it can cover (quickly)

Still need to wait out the "Data Collection Period". Very very "important" period, that Data Collection.

Yep sorry about that.

One possible solution is for the ENTIRE MWO community to go merc --- specifically Jade Falcon mercs and just sit in FP queues for a week. Just make the ENTIRE map JF. They want to cater to Clans then just break the game beyond existence.

Comparison...

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...2c115722e7fd26a

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...e58e60d3467b59f

Jagermech is still slower due to lower engine cap -.-

Have to drop to a much smaller engine to put in a comparable amount of ammo and you still are more vulnerable with IS XL engine.

Rumor says Paul's true goal is to nerf the Mist Lynx into oblivion, but not make so obvious.

This plan takes years of planning, and even more with great power plays within PGI's own court and senate.

Truly devious indeed...

Rage, rage against the dying of the light!

Ah, on the one hand it is so nice to have PGI validate my faith in them for absurdism, being 2 years behind the times, and just otherwise clueless about their game and how it works.

On the other hand, I really wish they would stop validating my faith in them for absurdism, being 2 years behind the times, and just otherwise clueless about their game and how it works.
