I know lol
Another PGI thing designed to be less confusing, but makes it more confusing.
The minus is supposed to mean you did a BAD BAD thing, but the actual message is hey you did -2 damage to your own team..

I'm mostly disturbed at losing C-bills even though I did like 1 pt of team damage (like bumping into someone). Sometimes I wonder why PGI did it like this. I know it's not like I'll lose sleep over sub-100 C-bills (nothing you can buy from that), but I'd rather just have fines only if I hit a certain threshold (like 30+ or 50+) and then scale that up. My 1 point of damage losing 20 C-bills is the most scrooge-like thing in this game.

If you do damage to team mates you lose Match Score, you lose C-bills and you may lose XP from what could have been awarded in the match ... that is why it is red. You damage people .when your fire hits them either on purpose or by accident but you take penalties in the match score for damaging team mates (so they are red).

No system is perfect, in World of Warships if someone rams you and your travelling faster, it's software decides that you are the culprit regardless of how innocent you are, this can lead to a whole new definition of fun if it should happen to take you into TK status, far more serious than having a 60 second timer.

That's because friendly fire is how the Black Fish lost the Game of Thrones.
