We IS pilot's appreciate you looking out for us.
Fine job fine job indeed.
Never again will we have to rage about jam rates.
And as a plus we can carry extra ammo for our AC's.
Yep great job.

Sorry but those uac nerfs were unnecessary and came for no reason. Even no one complained about op uacs on specific quirked mechs.
But we are talking about PGI that runs his "esports" tournament on a build that is months old so...

If you think this is funny, you lack an overall understanding of what is happening right now. Many IS loyalist abandon their account and go clan or they just leave the game goodbye. Faction play is dead. Overall player numbers are dropping. Steamplayers are mostly gone. PGI's panic reaction is to push out mechpack after mechpack and to start events that try to get players playing on a daily basis, because they need to milk the last whales left and try to cover the dramatic loss in the playerbase.
Still think this is funny? Will you keep laughing when there are no IS players left and microsoft decides to end this misery in 2018?

I dunno what the **** you're talking about, SteamDB and Steamspy both report a fairly steady peak concurrent daily users for the past 6 months, with average unique players over two weeks being north of 22000 - and that doesn't take into account the people who loathe Steam with a passion and thus are using the standalone client (a small subset of players to be sure, but they exist).
MechWarrior has always been a niche game, and its audience numbers align with that expectation. You're being overly melodramatic and need to calm down. Outside of certain fringe situations there was literally no point in using standard AC/5s over UAC/5s. If a slight UAC nerf is all it takes for an "IS loyalist" to abandon their account then maybe they weren't so "loyal" in the first place.

Nonsense. Standard ACs are only good with quirks. Even the Mauler was only meta because it had a nice, juicy velocity quirk.
Well, that, and ACs tend to follow an exponential curve where small numbers are trash but large numbers are way better.
For example, an AC/5 by itself is utterly useless. I would rather have a single Large Laser.
2 AC/5 is kind of mediocre.
3 AC/5 is starting to get somewhere, but there are still alternatives out there.
At 4 AC/5 now we're cooking with gas, at least when we ignore certain superior Clan dakka mechs...
5 AC/5 smacks pretty hard.
This raises the question of whether we should balance based on using only 1x AC/5 or 5x AC/5. For the former, this makes boating overpowered as fug. For the latter, this makes single ACs crap (kind of like the current situation). There really isn't a good way out that I know of.

My opinion on the matter is this:
Increase velocity and rate of fire across the board for all standard ACs, leave the base rate of fire and the velocity alone on the UACs. The UAC still gets superior DPS on the double-tap, but the standard AC has the ability to close the gap over a more extended trade. That's technically what happens now, but the definition of "extended trade" is for a window far too long to be useful.
The exponential increase to utility is pretty much not a concern, as 3x AC/5 builds right now are Mediocre™ and anything more is just prohibitively heavy on the vast majority of 'Mechs. The weight of five AC/5 is equal to four cUAC/10, and the latter is much better. The weight of four isUAC/5 is two tons more than two cUAC/10 and two cUAC/5, and the latter there is also way better. In fact, IS UACs could use some slight buffs of their own to make those extra two tons per gun worth something; PPFLD alone isn't quite enough given Clan boating potential.
TL;DR: we're not really in danger of eclipsing the power cap.

Absolutely none.
I scoffed at the "Dartboard of Nerfs."
Now I'm a true believer.
Oh well I guess when everyone is sporty a raggedy clan bus they'll be happy.
I wonder what's next halving the range on all IS lasers?
Once again outstanding job.
I'll just take my lone AC/5 and stand in the corner now.

I find it rather sad, that as a community we are that split on ideals.
Then again I don't care.
As a added note, Faction play was DOA anyways.

But the IS loyalty mechs solidly and overwhelmingly suck.
So much for loyalty huh?
